I have been suffering from a severe vaginal problem for over a year and a half now. It all started the first time i had sex, when i got a yeast infection and has not gone away since. I have been to the gyno atleast 6 times now for the same problem. SHe has prescribed me medication, after medication, after medication. Everything seems to work for a few days but comes back again, in most cases whenever i have sex or start to PMS. The ongoing symptoms are burning and itching, along with a discharge. You'd think it's a yeast infection...but its not- i have been prescribed some of the best medications for that...but it still comes back! I have been tested for STD's- all came back negative. My doctor is starting to believe its eczema... but then why am i having such severe discharges?? Is it possible to be allergic to your own fluid? HELP!! I cant deal with it anymore!!

Hi goldie
I am so sorry to hear about your problem. I too have been suffering the same since I have been married. At least you have gone to the doctor. I keep living in denial, not wanting to deal with it.
But, I do have two suggestions.
1. There is an over the counter test you can buy that will tell you if you have a yeast infection. I have yet to try it, but I think it might help you.
2. The one thing I find that does help me is acidolpholis. These are the good critters that get destroyed in our digestion. They also help with yeast infections (thats why you are suppose to eat yogurt). I have found that taking this helps...when I rememeber to take it.
I highly suggest getting the Jarro refrigerated kind. It is more potant than the ones not refrigerated.
When I did go to the gyno, she said that my husband's sperm could be bothering me. She explained that it is a very acid fluid that can irritate. She suggested rinsing up in that area with water to flush it out.
I have yet to try it as it kind of kills the mood afterward.
I hope you find relief and would love to know what works for you.
Keep me posted. : )

Hi Goldie, I totally feel for you. I had the same exact problem that started to happen about 4 years ago. It all started out with burning itching and a white discharge. For 6 long months i had this burning I was test for everything under the sun you name it. I started to wonder if something was wrong with me. I went to 8 gynos and ended up in the ER. I have been tested for all STD'S and HIV all negative yeasts negative. I was tested for diabetes and hormonal imbalance all normal. So what else could this be? and every time i went to the doctors they would always give me yeast medications and they would never ever help now i had a yeast infection before in the past and i took monistat went away in 4days. So here i am six months still burning can't sit and white discharge. Well the day i went to the ER the doctor referred me to a OB/GYN. She saved my life literally of mental insanity. Every doctor was diagnosing me with yeast and you know what i never had a yeast infection. So my new doctor goes have you been eating yogurt lately. I said yes. She said to immediately stop all yeast meds come off of yogurt. She examined my discharge set it to the lab for a special test called overgrowth of lactobillus and cytolic vagnosis which is the same thing but more severe and you know what it came back positive. My body was producing to much good bacteria and every time i ate pure yogurt you can forget it i would get vaginal burning so it is now 2009 and im am feeling so much better. Everytime i get vaginal burning it is because i am allergic to the pure yogurt and when i do get the flare ups burning only last for 2 or 3 days i stop all yogurt products and you are suppose to douche with baking soda and water for about 2 weeks when you have this condition. Because the doctors prescribed me soooo muchh yeast meds my vaginal area became inflammed so i had the combination lactobillus overgrowth and vulvodynia i was on nerve meds for about 6 months and now i am fine. I am telling you please do not loose hope get a GOOD doctor who will weed out eveything and test you for this it is so important many doctors think yeast and that is not it because they present the sameeee SYMPTOMS. Also women can be allergic to there vaginal fluid when it is produced in large amounts usually around ovulation which can cause buring. That is what my new doctor said. I wish you all the luck out there but to all women reading this i feel you i know how you feel people think that you are crazy but you are not you really do have to know your body when something is off and i never gave up on seeking treatment. Thank god for my new doctor. Good luck

I just started having this problem for about 2 months I was afraid to go back to GYN because I feared I had an std but listening to you ladies I just wanted to know what was going on with my body. Discharges are unusual but ladies I just found out I have hyperthyroidism which I do believe is a contributing factor to all of this. I go to my endocrine doctor tomorrow and I am going to bring this up to her. Because I am going to scratch all the skin off me if they don't have a fix for this. Sincerely Valor2016

Did you ever find an answer? I've wondered the same about myself because it seems I constantly have thrush yet I know I don't. I've only been with one man sexually and he's gotten tested multiple times to make sure he isn't giving me anything and it's all come back negative. I can't figure out what is triggering the flare ups but it's constant and like you I just get prescribed thrush meds and probiotics every time. I'm at a loss and now wonder if I'm.allergic to myself.
