Pleeaase help, I'm total freaked out. My vagina had been itchy and sensitive these past few days. Then I finally decided to look down there and Whoa, right on the rim of the outer lips was real flaky, much more flaky than a sunburn. Without thinking I started to try to get the stuff off, and some of the skin got rather raw and sensitive. I'm wondering what the hell it is and if it's something I'd pass on if I had sex.
Now some background info: I swim a lot, in pools, and I have shaved down there rather recently. I've just finished my period. I haven't sex. If someone could make sense of all this that'd be great.

It seems to me like you have picked up some sort of an infection, most likely the yeast infection. Yeast infections don't have to be transmitted sexually at all, in fact, you are more likely to get one in conditions you've described - wet underwear (well, bathing suit). Yeast needs moisture and if your skin was already somewhat irritated by shaving, the infection was just inevitable. I think you should see a pharmacist and get a yeast infection cream.
