A friend of mine has a 13 month old who is huge. I mean, he weighs the same as my three year old. He also seems to be thirsty all the time. She says that she is not at all worried about his health, but I think that he might have diabetes or something. Can you tell me what the most common diabetes symptoms are in toddlers?

Frequent peeing (ie, more than normal) and thirst are indeed signs of diabetes, whether in kids or adults. But in fact, when you say the kid is very large for his age, that makes me think something else might be going on because toddlers with diabetes tend to lose weight rather than gain it. Does he have any other symptoms?
