Im 21 years old and I'm a virgin. I was recently at a pool which used bromine instead of chlorine and had warmer water than Im used to, I was in my baithing suit from 11am-430pm and then again from 7pm-930pm on friday and then from 11am-430pm on saturday. I was also wearing spandex shorts all weekend which got damp from wearing them over my suit. On Sunday I started to feel like I had a small cut in my vagina and it was itchy and irritated. By Monday it was worse so I went out and got a 1 day yeast infection kit and used it. It made me feel better until that night when I woke up at 3am and couldn't sleep and it was painful to walk. I went to the doctor and she said she was concerned that I might have herpes. I have been taking valtrex since I went to the doctor. The day after I started taking Valtrex I started getting bumps on my vagina and it is VERY painful, especially when I am walking places. My labia is also very swollen and so are my glands.
I have very sensitive skin and usually when I get a yeast infection I get exema on my arms and legs which I had before I started taking Valtrex. I have also been using vagasil and my skin is sensative to perfume. I have also been on a lot of medication this year for colds like Z-pacs and other meds for ear infections and I know that some types of meds can contribute to yeast infections.
I am very worried because I just dont see how I could have herpes but all the symptoms seem to be there...
I started to get bumps but the ones at the front of my vagina are going away, but there are now more in the back and are very painful.
I also have a brownish-yellow discharge.
