Why Take Utrogestan??

I'm a newly bride . My husband and i wanted to have baby as soon as possible. So we consulted my obstetrician . Were planning to have a fertility baby . she also gave me this kind of drug that should be taken for 10 days . in the 16th up to 25th day of my first menstruation . I also dont know about this drug.

My menstrual periods have stopped and when I consulted my doc he prescribed the Utrogestan.I am still taking them ,one day ago .I hope with this medicine things will change.

HI Waitkus! I just read your topic. I am at your age with exactly the same problem. I have the same therapy.I have to stay in the bed all the time.Before i used to take utrogestan - 2 pills in the morning an 2 in the afternoon. Also i am taking some candels every night which i put behind.I even had an injection. Unfortunately i had this brown bleeding again.The doctor said i must increase the medications plus an injection every week.So tell me please how everything was with u after this therapy? thanks

Hey Genoveva, I am on it too because i started bleeding at 13 and a half weeks. It can not harm your baby, it is helping to keep your placenta intact and preventing you to miscarry (losing the baby). It is 100% safe and a lot of pregnant woman end up taking Utrogestan. Good luck! I hope it all goes well and that you and your baby will be fine! Lelani

I had an IVF and after the embryo transfer 5-10 days I am bleeding
It started with brownish blood now fresh light blood and some times dark blood.
And my doctor gave me utrogestan to take it 3 time a day as soon as I did the embryo transfer and I have been taking it and after I told my IVF coordinator she said I should go up to 4times in a day.
Before this blood incident.
I will be going for a blood test soon to church if I am pregnant.
Please advise me.

Hi all. I had a MC last October. I just found out that I am pregnant again and rushed to my OBGYN. She put me on folic acid (I was already taking 1tab in morning, she asked to take 1 in evening too). She also put me on UtroGestan 100mg (2 tabs before bedtime)... I dont feel anything -ve symtoms with this tab. I am already on 11th day today. No nausea or morning sickness... Have a follow up with 25th this month. So tensed. I just hope my baby is fine and growing well...fingers crossed!

Hi there

We have same case. May i know if u have been successful with utrogestan? I mean do get pregnant using this medication? Im 32 yrs old and still concieving. I need help or advice. I have taken 18days viginal utrogestan and on the 19th day i took pt and its still negative. Do anybody have the same case with mine? Thanks and god bless us all!

Hi do you have any cysts in your ovaries or irregular menstruation, if you have then I advise you take turmeric tea first and then if you really want a baby asap, then try taking folic acid like 800 mcg daily and salmon everyday until you are positive but continue with the folic acid until you breastfeed

Hi! i'm 26 years old and i am 29 weeks pregnant i have few complication during this stage, my blood pressure si 130/80, there are small opening in my cervix and and my amniotic fluid is getting low. from 13to10 by now. my doctor advice me to take utrogestan, duphaston, and asoxuprine. is there anyone who familiar with this kind of medicine? and there side effect?

I took 1 Utrogestan 100 mg 3 times a day during my first pregnancy (starting 5th week for 1 month) and my boy was completely fine. just follow your gynae's instruction.

I was given utrogestan after my first internal scan around 9 weeks I started bleeding the doctor was rough and I think that is what caused the bleeding. My son was born with a heart defect. I have seen that excessive progesterone intact can cause heart defects. The doctor did not check my levels before prescribing it. I wish I hadn't taken it. My second pregnancy was fine no drugs minimal vitamins and my baby is amazing. Try not to take meds during pregnancy.
