Dear Reader:

I have been having period for 3months or more. What started it all was going to my GP for birth control injection about 6 months ago. After which my period stopped for 2 weeks, happy and thinking it had finally stopped, all of a sudden my period became irregular, and little by little it was 2 weeks period one week stop and 2 weeks period, just like that and then I went to my GP again and she pescribed Minillette birth control and that worked for about a month and then it stopped working and then the doctor prescribed a stronger one which I am on now called Thriphazel. I have used that for 2 months and it has not stopped it once. I am so confused and do not know what else to do. An ultra Sound was done and nothing was found. I need help becos I get tired everyday, most days I do not want to get out of bed and the only good thing that I can at least hold on to is the fact that I do not have the normal pain every day for the past 3 months.

I would not waste my time with a general practitioner if I were you. You need to go to a Gyn. I was on my period for over a year and finally bit the bullet and went. Turns out, I was about two days away from having to have blood transfusions I had lost so much blood. This is most likely why you are so tired, is due to the blood loss. Also, was the ultrasound trans vaginal? That's is how they found my problem. This condition is not something you want to mess around with...you need to see a specialist.

Alright, well I bled for two and a half years with only short breaks in the first two years. The last six months, I bled constantly and the bleeding increased. In the last two months, I was going through about five super plus tampons in an hour! I finally decided I should go to the dr. when I was walking up a slight hill to get to my car and nearly passed out. On this hill that I walk up almost every day with no problem, I couldn't breath and my head was pounding. I called a gyn. and they scheduled an emergency appointment for the next morning. I went in and the doc. asked me a bunch of questions, performed a pelvic exam, and took the little blood I had left for labs. When they were having trouble drawing blood, that's when he informed me that I was a couple days away from needing blood transfusions. I was sent home with a huge cardboard box of iron pills as well as a prescription for a progesterone pill to stop the bleeding. After about a week, the bleeding stopped completely. The next week I went back in for a trans vaginal ultrasound which is when they found the cysts on my ovaries which were screwing up my hormones which caused the bleeding. It doesn't require surgery, I just have to take birth control pills now to regulate hormones and hopefully shrink the cysts. The condition is called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome; this condition is actually very common, however, many woman have the opposite effect as I and do not bleed at all.

Will we be able to bear one? ........I wish we had a normal life...........I cant think of her in so much pain........any solution with you other than progesterone? she dont want to take that.
