I have been experiencing the same thing! They say they don't see anything and the ultrasound tech wouldn't give me much info. Please keep us updated!

Oh my goodness. I am sitting here writhing in pain, 2 days after my transvaginal ultrasound and have been searching the net for answers. I have been going to the toilet to urinate SO much since the exam and I feel quite bloated. Your comment has helped (and frightened me!).

I am 13 years into menopause and because of abdominal symptoms, which 2 different GPs in the course of more than one appt with each, were totally mystified about. Because I also have a history of ulcerative colitis, they were thinking it's bowel-related. I've been having constipation, told that I might have diverticulitis and to eat more fiber, that it's irritable bowel, and all sorts of theories. Finally, after this going on for a good few months, one of the GPs referred me for a trans-vaginal ultrasound. Had it yesterday'.

Was very painful when she got to the left side, after mentioning right ovary was fine, womb was fine, but said bowel on left side looked large and "peristaltic" as well as having a small 1cm or less cyst on left ovary.

Got home, just felt awful. Had to go to bed, then fell asleep, very unlike me! Felt crampy and horrible the rest of the evening, then noticed a bit of watery bloody discharge. Freaked out. Called the healthline here in the UK, where eventually I spoke to a doctor. He used the word "might" a few times ie, "might" be quite normal to have these after-effects.

Booked GP for this coming Monday to see where we go from here. But just adding to this discussion, was quite painful during (left side) the scan, and afterwards. Will try to remember to update here when I find out more.

I had 3 other transvaginal scans several years ago. Number one (about 14 yrs ago for right side pain and the other 2 for abnormal bleeding during the past 10 yrs. The first was painless until the doctor touched the ovary where the pain was. He could see nothing wrong, but stopped. The others (due to findings of thick uterine lining, resulted in a D&C and the next an in office uterine lining biopsy (talk about pain!!!!). These last 2 scans were uncomfortable and even hurt.
I also have pain with pap smears--not killer but it hurts.

So due to elevated testosterone, I was sent for another trans-scan. This time it was very painful--burning even--as if rubbing the transducer over a large sore and it being covered in salt. I read that pain is usually a sign you have a bowel or bladder issue. I had missed all week from work from either food poisoning, stomach bug, or IBS. Since the scan, I feel I have a bladder infection.

I noticed the results were not posted today, so I'm scared to death I have a tumor or something. I am having bouts of pain and then it goes away. It feels like a bladder infection more than anything else. I asked the tech and she said it was probably just thinning of the vaginal walls...but that is not where it hurts. It is mostly urethra into the bladder and there is no bleeding. And it doesn't hurt to pee. Anyone else have this?

I am 57. I've given birth twice and had several transvaginal ultrasounds over the years without any problem. I had one yesterday to check for possible thick walls of uterus (I had no problems, but Doctor thought it a good idea). The procedure wasn't comfortable, but not terrible. She shoved the probe this way and that in order to take photos and also locate ovaries. The evening after, when urinating I had a painful uterine spasm/cramp. The cramping/pain continued on and off the next day. It is now 2:00am, 32 hours after the ultrasound. I woke up in severe pain. Put a hot pad on my abdomen. Took 3 Advils and 2 Tylenol with codeine. What the heck happened inside my body? I am not having bleeding or spotting, but it feels like my innards were torn or scrambled up. When will this pain go away?

If you continue to have GYN problems with no identified cause that leads to successful treatment....you may have "neuro-hormonal" imbalances. The Hinz protocol can identify these imbalances AND how your body "metabolizes" these neuro-hormones. You can find a doctor whom Dr. Marty Hinz has trained in his system by calling NeuroResearch Clinics & see if one is local to you.

Yes I went for one yesterday, I have also been before and had no pain. It hurt bad?? The reason I went is because I have been having urinary track infection symptoms and pain on left side that radiates down the front of left leg.

I'm 53 and have not been having sex for the better part if 10 years and I had to out the scope in too. I am very tight down there naturally, it took me til my 30's to be comfortable with tampons so don't feel embarrassed. The ultrasound tech ultimately makes the difference, there are good ones and bad ones ...it's the bad ones that should not be doing such a job...we are not all the same and needed to be treated as individuals.

I had my follow up scan today. The technician said you must always tell the sonographer if you're having pain.

I didn't experience any pain today whatsoever.

He did say that sometimes there can be a bit of air trapped in the abdomen, so the sonographer will have to press from inside and outside and maybe that's what had hurt.

He found nothing suspicious looking, so just to say, if you are having pain during the procedure, let them know.

I had my first TV ultrasound just over a month ago. The person doing the ultrasound had me press down on my left side to get a better picture which was very uncomfortable. Afterwards, I was extremely sore following the ultrasound and it lasted about a week. All of my results came back normal, or so I assume because I never got a call from my Doctor saying otherwise. It's now been a month and the pain returned a couple of days before I started menstruating and has continued throughout my period, which is not normal for me. I am worried that this is going to be an ongoing thing now. I was glad to fin this discussion but haven't seen any answers as to why this is happening. My next step is to make an appointment with my physician to find out why and what to do next.
