I took Aleve, but it doesn't seem to help yet, and I have a heating pad on, but it is impossible to sleep..
my history : currently, I have cyst on right ovary, and polyp in the uterus. I had multiple, large fibroids and endometriosis in 2009, had surgery to remove them,, and all has been good until recently when right ovary pain started with pain down the thigh.
As for the ultrasound itself, it didn't actually hurt when she was doing it, just felt uncomfortable and painful type pressure when she hit certain areas. now (8 hours later) feels much more intense, especially around the bladder area, and feels like I have to pee, even though I just did.
I had a transvaginal ultrasound a few years ago, and the same thing happened!! I blocked it out, but now the memory has come back to me. I was really upset, and went back to my gyno, she said it was not supposed to hurt, but that some people are very sensitive, and there are a lot of nerves in that area, and uterus can become inflamed, irritated, especially if it is enlarged to begin with (mine is 13 cm - considered enlarged).
Here's the good news, the pain, uncomfortable feelings, etc. went away after about 5-6 days, each day a little better. She also checked for UTIs and yeast infection, and found I had a yeast infection. I don't know if that made pain worse, or was coincidental..
In any case, I hope this helps somebody. The pain is real, but it will get better. Try Aleve, Motrin, heating pad, and or warm bath (not if you have a UTI though, as this will just irritate urinary tract more in my experience. I hope everyone feels better

I had a Vaginal Probe 3 days ago. Had many in the past however, this time my regular tech forgot my left ovary was absent and jammed the probe way up in an attempt to locate it. I felt a sharp nerve type pain and reminded her there was no ovary there. Since then, I have been in terrible pain. Coincidentally' I had a physical appointment the next day and my MD insisted the pain could not have been from the probe. (I knew better). I am still in a ton of pain and having trouble sleeping at night. I notice there are many physicians on this site and was wondering if any of them could offer up what damage could have been done by the jamming of the probe deep into the left side of the cavity. Good luck and thank you for the post.
