X-ray Result, I got PTB bilateral of undetermined activity

Hi,

I wanna ask if can I get clearance as soon as possible to be capable to enroll in 1st year college because according to the impression of my x ray result, I got PTB bilateral of undetermined activity. The doctor who took physical exam in me said if I had a clearance, i may come to school. Related to that PTB, I dont feel any symptoms of it. I was shock when it goes like that. Any doctor that can help me please. Thanks.

Hi April,

You NEED to find out more about your x-ray results.  "Undetermined activity" means it could very well be active.  In that case you require treatment NOW with antibiotics.  PTB will not cure itself AND it often does not present with any symptoms early on.

You COULD have scarring from a previous infection that is not active.  An x-ray can not tell the difference.  You REQUIRE additional testing.  Scars from PTB will remain for life.

I can not stress this enough.  See your doctor NOW.

Hi, The doctor needs my sputum to be examine but I dont have any sputum to spit out. I dont have even a cough or cold. I got my medical exam since May 27 but I really dont have sputum. Can I take the DOTS program without my sputum only rely on xray result? Any doctor that can help me please. Thanks.

Hi Doctor,

I have the same problem. I do not have cough or any symptoms of TB may all labroratories are negative. My first xray said I have pulmunary tuberculosis however my other test is negative, and I do nt have TB in a past. Then my second Xray says PTB undetermine activitity. Kndly please tell me what is the meaning of this?

My brother also had the same situation.. but he already took sputum exam twice and the exam resulted negative both.. he also already took gene expert and the result was negative also.. only the xray resulted"undermined activity".you think that scar will only the reason why by brother always having a positive result in xray?

I dont know how could it happen i already did chest xray twice same asuall activity determined??when i did the laboraty told by doctor sputum its also negative twice.
