Last October, I was taking Yaz and suddenly got SERIOUS abdominal pains. I was in and out of the hospital for two(+) weeks. All the doctors said I was faking it, but how can you fake peeing blood and sudden pains that knock you off your feet. For about four days, I was admitted into the hospital and tested for everything. I was on morphine at a minimum of six times a day, with antibitotics. These doctors really are mentally incompitant.
Around Feb. I was put on Nuva ring. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, I couldn't breath. The doctors at the hospital took me off the birthcontrol. Since being off both birthcontrols, I have been healthy and happy and not pregnant.

In august of 2008 I had my first baby, I went back for my 6 week check up and my doctor and I were talking about what kind of birth control I wanted to take. We decided that Yaz would be

Thanks for posting the warning here! I have heard nothing but bad news about Yaz and i"m sorry that it's still being marketed despite causing issues for so many women. Thanks again for warning everyone.

I was on yaz from around June 05 til Oct 06 got off of it to get pregnant. During that time no complications. Had my baby Feb 08 got back on yaz sometime around summer 08 I think. I'd have to check my medical records to know for sure but almost immediatly started having bad leg cramps week before my period. Then started getting them week before my period and during my period around Feb 09. I was popping motrin like crazy because it hurt so bad. Then come June 09 it was so bad I could barely walk. Then same for July it was so bad I couldn't walk. My husband had to help me off the couch and I had to pull myself up the steps. This went on for 2 weeks straight everyday. I called my obgyn and went in about 3 days later. They took me off of yaz and put me on something else. I haven't had the leg cramps again yet at all so far and I am getting ready to start my period any day. Previously my legs would of been cramping allready for a week. I'm wondering if I did have a PE or was on the verge of one?

It sounds to me like you could have possibly had a PE. Have you talked to your doctor about it at all? I would ask to make sure!

Hi, I am 19 years old and I've been on Yaz for over almost 3 years and I have no complications what-so-ever. My cramps no longer hurt as bad as they did before I was put on yaz and my periods are much lighter. Also my acne has gone down almost 100%. I am a smoker, a healthy eater, I rarely ever get sick, and I had not gotten pregnant. Maybe your problems are not Yaz or Yasmin, maybe you guys have other problems because I think Yaz is great!!!! I do not know one person on Yaz or Yasmine whose gotten all the problems you women have gotten.

I'm 24 and about 1.5 years ago, I went on Yaz after a lot of problems with my cycle and fear of typical weight gain I get with other pills. My doctor told me it's a great pill and that I would love it for shorter, lighter periods. Well after taking it for 3mo. my body was so screwed up!
I had digestive issues similar to those mentioned by other ladies on this post, like SEVERE constipation and inability to eat. I completely lost my appetite. I also started losing my hair and waking up drenched in sweat nightly. I had the worst night sweats—I mean I soaked my side of the bed/blankets/pajamas. My ex-husband would be very worried about me since it would be like a bucket of water was thrown on me. It's not normal to do that. It didn't even really control my periods either.
After going round about with the doctor over it (they tested me for all sorts of things) she finally suggested it was probably the Yaz. As soon as I quit, a week later my digestive issues were gone and I no longer woke up drenched.
The only thing now is, I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I wonder if this pill contributed to that at all since it's an adrenal type of pill (the commercial even says so)...either way when my hypo tests came back, they said my liver counts were really off and my potassium was incredibly low. I totally think Yaz contributed to at least that part.
This is the most aweful pill ever invented and marketed. I recently noticed how Bayer has changed their commercial so that it's no longer selling the "benefits" like it once was.

I am a previous user of Yaz. I'm 19 and I have developed a blood clot in my sagittal sinus. It kept getting diagnosed as a migraine (or a spinal headache after I received a spinal tap to rule out aneurysms and meningitis as the cause of moderate to severe, ever constant headaches that had lasted for 2 and a half weeks). I was vomiting, I had pressure behind both of my eyes (I couldn't even touch them it hurt so bad). What had happened was that the clot in my head is in the spot where the recycling and distribution of cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) occurs, causing my intercranial pressures to sky rocket, causing my symptoms.
It was just by happy chance that my mom managed to find an article about a girl with the same predicament as me.
WARNING: Tell your doctors, if your daughters or even you are on Yaz, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE DIAGNOSING YOU WITH PSEUDOTUMOR CEREBRI OR ONLY CHALKING IT UP TO MIGRAINE OR CLUSTER HEADACHES that you WANT AN MRI THIS INSTANT. This is not a joke, it's serious and it can kill you. My doctors keep saying it's really rare, but I wonder with the way they were mis-diagnosing me...
So far, no blood test is coming back with a predisposition. Stay away from this stuff.

I have been on Yaz for two years and have noticed some unsettling changes with the way my body feels. I don't really trust it but I used to have horrible PMS and now I don't have it at all anymore. I am a smoker and occasional drinker and read Yaz's warnings very well and this doesn't sound like woman over 35 are more at risk for stroke and blood clots, it sounds like everyone and what disgusts me more is these are woman who take care of themselves. I have also been experiencing unusual bowl problems for some time that serious effect my life, maybe it's time to try another pill.

I started Yaz just a few months ago feeling fairly confident that it would help with PMS as well as heavy periods. Now I throw up constantly, have lost a LOT of hair, feel drained, my breasts hurt, and i am so down all the time. The only thing I can see that it can be is Yaz. I quit taking it, but the side effects have not stopped. I just don't know what to do.

I have had three tumors removed from my liver, two the size of grapefruits, one the size of a baseball, my gall bladder was removed, went to the hosp three times in 2 months because of kidney infections, I have been diagnosed with SVT, and I have had 2 heart attacks, my resting heart rate is 101, now tell me, how could this have happened to a 20 yr old who is otherwise healthy if not taking those pills?
I already have lawyers on it, I advise you all to do the same.
STOP taking those pills PLEASE. I have been through so much because of those stupid tumors on my liver, and now I have a large scar to show off in my bikini. NOT fun!

Ok so I think alot of you ladies are taking everything so personally. I have never done this before but I wanted to dig a bit deeper then just what my doctor told me. A lot of these situations are the extreme cases and these women are just wanting to prevent this from happening to you. I am 25 year old average women and have been on both yasmin and yaz for the past 2 years I was very excited about all the benefits of this pill just like all of you, but that all came crashing down when I found out that I have basically been poisoning myself. For the past year or so I have had countless tests done because I have been experiencing horrible abdominal and back pain constant fatigue, random vomiting etc the list can go on forever, all of my test came back clean but still I have felt like death, at my last doctors appointment I was getting test results back for my colonscopy and endoscopy (which are extreamly invasive)I was also there to get more birth control and my doctor had just read an article about yaz and its dangers and took me off of it right awayall my symtoms are linked to this pill. I probably wont start to feel better for 3 more months and who knows what else could happen to until this stuff is out of my system. I know you ladies are convinced it depends on your body and all pills have the same warnings but this particular pill increases your chances by 6.3 TIMES!!! I know my symptoms are not as severe as others but they are symptoms of so many other scary diseases like crones, colon cancer, ovarian cancer and its just a pain to feel this way and worry. I hope all of you that are still pro yaz stay healthy but remember it doesn't have to happen right away or be as serious pay attention to your body. Class action lawsuits dont just happen for no real reason.
