Quit Exercising At The Gym During Pollen Season
No doubt, working out at the gym regularly is really good for your health. But if you suffer from any air borne allergies or if your respiratory system is too weak to handle the allergens, it is not a good idea at all to exercise at the gym. Hundreds of people visit the gym every day. You never know what another person is carrying or exhaling. There may be many pollen in somebody's hair or clothes, for example. These pollen or allergens can be tolerated by a healthy person, but if you are sensitive and react to allergens too often, try not to exercise at the gym. Try to stay home as much as possible during the pollen season.

Don’t Mow The Lawn Yourself — Ask A Relative Or Friend
Besides pets and some other sources such as plants, grass, and trees are some of the main sources of allergens and pollen. Your lawn may increase the beauty of the home and there is no doubt that it is necessary to mow the lawn regularly if you want to maintain its beauty. In order to save yourself from any kind of outdoor allergies, it is better to ask a family member or friend to mow your lawn for you. This is because the grass on the lawn produces seed heads and pollen enough to attack a sensitive person. After the lawn is done, try to stay away from freshly cut grass.

Always Use A Paper Mask While Gardening
Many people like gardening, and some people like it so much that it becomes a real hobby. If you love gardening, don’t forget to put on a paper mask when you go into the garden. Pollen are particles that enter your respiratory system and activate the mechanism in your body that releases histamine. Histamine is a bronchio-constrictor which constricts the bronchioles (respiratory airways that help in breathing). This causes difficulty in breathing. To keep yourself away from any kind of trouble that pollen can cause, you are advised to use a paper mask while spending time in the garden. The allergens found on trees, plants, grass, flowers, and so on are extremely harmful for your health if inhaled. Paper masks prevent allergens from entering the respiratory airways.

Place Trash Bins Further From Your House
If you are allergic to molds, you must stay away from trash cans. Dust bins or trash cans — including those you use for your own waste disposal — have tiny dust particles or molds that can easily be inhaled and cause allergy. It is highly recommended to place your compost bins and dust bins further from your house. And when you need to add something to the compost bin, ask a family member to do it for you. If you don’t have a choice but to go and dispose the trash yourself, wearing a paper mask will keep your exposure to a minimum.

Don't Rake Leaves
Mulch, hay, and leaves are prime breeding grounds for mold spores. If you are allergic to molds, never rake leaves, mulch, or hay. Raking leaves can be very dangerous for you if you have had any seasonal or outdoor allergy before. Wet leaves are full of mold, so if you go within range you will definitely become a victim of these mold spores. You are also advised not to clean gutters and piles of garden clippings that have plenty of wet leaves. Wearing a paper mask is a good idea if you don't have a choice but to do it all by yourself.

Take A Shower And Change Clothes
You know very well that you are advised to stay at home as much as possible if you are allergic to pollen or dust. But it is not possible to spend your whole life inside your house. Everybody has to go out. If you are allergic, you can still keep some rules in mind whenever you get home from outdoors. As soon as you get home, take a shower immediately and change your clothes. This helps to remove the pollen that might be stuck in your clothes or your hair while you were out. Keep your new set of clothes in your garage to change instead of taking pollen into your house.

Keep Your Doors And Windows Closed
Pollen do not keep floating in the air throughout the year. There is a specific season every year when pollen are found in the air. Millions of people get seasonal allergies during this season. If you have encountered an allergy once, it is quite possible that you will get the allergy again the following year. Be very cautious during this season, and remember to keep the doors and windows of your house closed. The pollen can easily enter your house with a light breeze if doors and windows are open. Use air conditioners or fans to keep your house coolrather than opening windows.

Use Nasal Spray And Products For Rinsing
Many people take precautionary measures during the pollen season. They do their best to keep pollen away from their house, such as taking showers regularly, using a mask while mowing the lawn, avoiding gardening, and so on — but that is not enough. Pollen are tiny particles that can’t be seen with the naked eye. Whenever you got out, you do inhale pollen from the atmosphere. These pollen primarily reside in your nasal passages. To clean your nasal passages it is recommended to use nasal spray and other products for rinsing. After being outdoors, always rinse your nasal passages with a saline spray that removes any pollen that you may have inhaled.

Don't Wash Your Pets By Yourself
If are allergic to pollen or have had a seasonal allergy before, pets are not recommended for you. The animal's skin and fur are good reservoirs for allergens to reside on. But if you are living in a house with pets, you should be very careful. Pets carry a lot of allergens or pollen that can easily enter your respiratory airways and cause allergy. Whenever you take your pets out for a walk, pollen and allergens get caught in their fur. If you have a pet, you should avoid contact with the pet as much as possible and remember not to wash the pet yourself. Ask your family member to do it for you.

Put A Rug At The Entrance Of Every Room
Always place a washable rug in the main entrance and the entrance of every other room. These rugs are very helpful because they can trap the pollen inside them, which prevents them from roaming free in the air. These rugs must be washable because you have to wash them every week. Washing these rugs with hot water will wash out all the pollen that have been trapped within the rug. These rugs are also useful because they absorb most of the pollen that come with shoes from outside.
