I'm a 17 year old female. I have been getting these stomach aches ever since I was a little girl, and over the years they have gotten more severe. If I wait too long to eat breakfast in the morning (like if I don’t eat something the minute I get out of bed) about 5 hours later, I’ll start to get stomach pains. They happen right inside the bottom part of my ribcage, where the upsidedown “V” is, and reach to my mid-back area, just underneath my shoulder blades. They start off mild, then gradually get more severe. Within an hour or two, it’s hard for me to walk or stand up straight, I feel like curling up in a ball it hurts so much. It’s like a burning pain with no stopping. I have no acid reflex or pain in my throat/chest, it’s all down in my stomach. One side of my stomach (the right side) always feels a little more achy than the other side. My stomach also gets really swollen/bloated, and it hurts when I touch it. It seems like I have too much acid in my stomach and that is what’s causing me pain, but I’ve tried antacids, magnesium, baking soda, heartburn relievers (such as TUMS) with no luck. I’ve also tried natural stomach soothing teas, peppermint tea, and drinking lots of water, but it doesn’t seem to help. If I recline propped up with a heating pad on my abdomen, this helps to relieve the pain a bit, but it doesn’t last. I have to prop myself up in bed with pillows behind my back – it hurts more when I lie flat on my back and I cannot lie down on my side. After 12 hours of constant pain, the stomach ache will be gone. (Usually if I started to get a stomach ache around 2:00 PM, I’ll feel fine by 2:00 AM that night.) For the next 12 hours, I’ll feel fine and if I drink a lot of water (like 3 liters) within those 12 hours, the pain won’t come back. Oftentimes the pain does come back the second day, but later on (like around 4:00 PM) and will last for another 12 hours, (until 4:00 AM) Sometimes the pain will come back on the third day, but not usually. After this, I feel 100% better with no pain whatsoever for the next 20-30 days. But then within a month, I’ll get another stomach ache. Usually I can connect these stomachaches to not eating breakfast early enough, but today I’m experiencing the same pain and I have been eating breakfast early every day for the past month or so. I know that I have some food allergies (including: dairy, chocolate, citrus, onions) and I stay away from all of these foods. I’ve also been trying a gluten-free diet for the past 40 days, to see if this affected my stomach at all, and I’ve had 2 occasions with stomach aches during that time. I have no idea what to do! I’m so worried that I might have a stomach ulcer or something worse.. .. Does anyone else have these symptoms and can you tell me what this could be? Thank you so much in advance.

I am a 52 year old Caucasian male with the same exact thing only mine will start almost immediately after waking and I drink a sip of coffee or juice, then within a 1/2 an hour I have such horrible feelings of subtle pain and extreme nausea to the point I could probably shoot myself in the head and not care just to stop this horrible feeling. I read were your diet can fix almost any ailment when done right. I cut out Dairy and try to cut back on sugar and sometimes the episode only lasts a few hours, I would give anything to make this right. No doctor can figure out exactly what it is and put a stop to it. I have some luck with Pro-biotics but every remedy seems to scare me from trying as to not trigger it due to the wrong solution. Very depressing and life altering, Mine has been off and on for over 10 years. There has been times for 6 to 8 months at a time it stops. I also believe anxiety and stress plays a part too, building it up to happen over a few days of high stress and anxiety. My Daughter just got majorly screwed by her car insurance company and I have been dealing with the DOI to fix it very stressful and 2 days into the issue my stomach went out for 12 hours again. Like I said I would give anything to get this fixed!
