From blogs thoughout the internet no "one" person has THE ANSWER.  I was a pain management patient for 2 1/2 years on 30 mg methadone daily.  I made the bad decision (Iguess) to go to another PM Doc and he disbelieved me that I was switching to his facility due to the prior PM Doc becoming "GOD".  Needless to say, the new PM doc would not refill my script so here I am.  I didn't take anything for 2 days, then only 5mg every 12 hours for 2 days then to zero.  It has been 2 1/2 days....Im very weak, lower back hurts, im cold, twitching, crying, aching, stretching, eblows and groin area ache the most.  Diahrrea, headache, pretty much flu symptoms times 5....no desire to eat.  I did go to my regular everyday doctor and told him what had happened and he asked me what I wanted to do...Hence, he would refill the methadone for a month until new pm doc gets all of his info needed to continue to treat...or...withdrwal.  I chose withdrawl.  I have never begged for death until yesterday .  What My Regular Doc gave me to assist with the discomforts of the withdrawls are the following:  1000mg tylenol every5 hours, 800mg motrin every 4 hours (both are otc), also the prescribed Ativan0.01 mg 3 times daily for anxiety and clonodine .1mg for calming.  All are helpful, but do not take away the pain and sluggishness. according to his Doctors book it states peak is ususaly 48 hours clean  then anywhere between 7 to 14 days of discomfort but can last up to 30 days.

This is all I have and its from my doctors mouth...I'd appreciate anyone elses views.
