I know what you feel I am nearly 13 and I haven't "started'' yet. All it means is that you are a late bloomer. If it makes you feel better I am still as flat a board.

Don't worry I'm twelve and I'm in the same situation. All my friend have gotten theirs and I feel alone. But I guess it's nothing you can do just enjoy life and be you that's all you can do. <3

Hey icemaid3,
I haven't started my periods yet either and it can be awkward knowing other people have and you haven't but count yourself as lucky because teachers always tell you that they don't hurt but my three older sisters have started and they say i am missing absolutely nothing because according to them "it hurts like hell" which is what they genuinley say..my mom didn't even start till she was eighteen!so enjoy the freedom while you still can! :D

Don't worry. I am almost 14 and haven't started yet. I know lots of people say its nothing to look forward to but then you feel patronised and lonely. A friend of mine started about 6 weeks ago an she is 13 next week. I guessed she had started and i knew about periods through science, pshce etc. My other friend started last summer and started patronising my other friend and saying I knew nothing about periods because I hadn't started. It made me feel like I was the youngest who shouldn't know this stuff when I was older than both of them. Wait until your 14, or 15 if you have any medical deficiencies eg downs, epilepsy, aspergers or ocd.

Hey, I'm also 13, and I feel kind of the same way. My friends had their when they were 11, and I still haven't gotten mine either. I would ask your mom when she got hers, but you don't necessarily get yours when she did. Don't worry, everything will be ok. I really want mine to come, and I've been told not to look forward to it, but that's entirely your own opinion. If you need some help, ask a friend you trust, people in the internet (Thank you Internet!) or you mom, or a book about it (I recommend Ready Set Grow). Hope this helps!

Don't worry, I am 13 and every single girl in my class has their period and I don't. They talk about in front of me, not knowing I don't have mine, but if you don't really speak about it, you are fine. Besides, to keep me away from crying and being lonely (my mom got her period at age 12, so did my sister, the first few months after turning 12) I do tests and quizzes and all of them say 1 week-4 weeks or 1 month or 3 months.
Most girls start at 12 or 13, but many start at 12. Since you may be 13 now, and still have not started, I would suggest telling your mother how you feel (I told my mom and we will see the doctor if there is no results by early December) and asking to see the doctor by December as well.
Do not worry, there's tons of us late bloomers who feel the same way. Good luck:)
