ok so i am 14 and my boyfriend and i have been having unprotected sex almost every day. i am on the depo shot but i just started it last month. I missed my period this month and i gained a lot of weight. It hurts when i cough or laugh because my lower stomach and sides hurt so bad. I get dizzy in the morning i dont throw up though, Im irritated easily and cry just over a sad commerical, i have been going to bed earlier than normal because im so tired, i have even made up excuses for pe so i dont have to do it cuz i just feel soo exhausted, ill be so hungry one day then the next i dont want to eat at all, I dont get it i think i might be pregnant but i have no clue. I would take a pregnancy test but i dont have the money to even buy one. My stomach just looks like fat to me but my boyfriends says that it almost has some sort of pouch look to it. I need to know if i am pregnant. ASAP! Please help %-)

Depo shot is effective in preventing pregnancy almost immediately after you have the shot, so you probably were protected from pregnancy, but it does cause a lot of side effects and from what you describe happening to you, it definitely seems like you have the worst of those side effects - weight gain, mood swings and abdominal pains. Also, Depo can be responsible for your skipped period - it takes time for your body to get used to the hormones from the shot. But, the only way to be absolutely sure about pregnancy is to take the test.
