I am a 29 year old diabetic (type 1) and for the past 4 or 5 days have been having some stomache trouble.
I seem to be getting high blood sugars very easily. I don't seem to be able to eat very much, no matter how hungry I am. it seems to choke me if I try to eat much. Even a glass of water seems heavy on my stomache. For instance, yesterday I had 1 piece of rye toast with margerine and jam for breakfast and 1 hot dog- no bun for lunch. I had 5 ketchup flavored potato chips later in the evening. At times I have to force myself to eat.
I threw up once two days ago, but I think that was more because I hadn't eaten for awhile. I still need to take around 10-12 units of Humulog every 5 or 6 hours. Also, for this time period, I've had diarreaha. Every time I go to the bathroom. There is nothing solid about it. The color is the same, no blood or anything unusual.
I don't feel weak and I'm not going to the washroom more then usual. But when I do, it's all liquid.
Anything that sits on my stomache, including the elastics in my pants and underware seem to bother my stomache as well. And laying down feels best. If I sit up or stand for very long, I feel slightly sick to my stomache.
I live in a small town and have to wait at least 3 months to see a doctor. Can anyone help me?

It's very unusual that you are getting high blood sugars so easily. I assume of course that you are taking insulin when you need to but that's still unusual. Unfortunately I don't really have any answers, I just awnted to post and see how you were doing. Does anyone else out there have any ideas? Keep us posted on how you're doing okay, Kay?
