I have been on the same BC since i was 17. I am 20 now and for the past month and a half have had 4 diffrent periods. I went to the doctors and she told me that my body has got used to the birth control i was on so she switched it. she made me wait to start the new pill until after the bleeding had stopped...once i started the new pill about a week and a half later i got another period i at first ignored it thought it was just my body getting used to the new pill but i started to get dark red blood clots and my cramps got horrible so i went back to the doctors and she switched it agian...its been about 8 days since i started the new pill and i woke up this mornin with horrible cramps and this nasty thick brown blood on my underwear...I am starting to get worried that there is something serious going on...can anyone help me out please??

It sounds to me like your doctor might have made some mistake - and you are the one paying for them. I've never heard of switching this many types of BC in such a short time! Did you have any kind of exam before the doctor decided to switch the pill? This much bleeding definitely can be caused by all those pills change, but you need to find some other doctor and as soon as you can to stop the bleeding and to be sure you get independent opinion.

No i never got a exam i mean i go in every year for a pap...but i never went to my gyno i just went to my reg. doctor and she told me that its common for women to get used to their birth control over a period of time and have to switch to a diffrent pill...i guess there are higher and lower amounts of estregine in each pill...Its just i have taken the new pills for about a weeks time and the same thing keeps happining except each time its worse

On which kind, well kinds, of birth control pills are you now? And no, some women have used the same BC pill for years and it has worked for them and birth control pills nowdays rarely contain estrogen. So, I;m sorry, but I'm just not all that sure in what this doc did. But, which pills?
