Hi all,
I had a crash in February 2005,this caused a soft tissue injury on the right side neck and shoulder. 2 weeks after returning to work I again was the middle car in a high speed impact causing soft tissue injury to left side neck, shoulder, lower-back, and left leg. I have been in Constant pain since. This is where the problem begins. Having attended my family doc for over a year, he sent me to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Who on examination found a weak left foot however after reading his MRI found no abnormalities, and put it back to soft tissue problems and to continue meds. After another year on meds, my family doc sent me to another Orthopaedic Surgeon at the same hospital who couldn’t locate the previous MRI but said if the first surgeon couldn’t find anything then there’s nothing there. and with soft tissue in mind sent me for a epidural injection with a pain specials on my lower back .this worked great for 4 months then pain returned. Once the pain in my back returned the pain spec,, continued with the meds for my neck back and knee for a further year. my doc decided to send me to a neurosurgeon. he also decided to have another MRI done for a comparison. The radiogoligy report states no bony issues. However when view by neurosurgeon he says there was a injury to L2 in first MRI 2006 which had repaired in MRI 2007. I have had 6 physiotherapists in the past 5 years with over 250 sessions of physio, all therapist say that my neck and back muscles are in constant spasm.
Having seen the insurance doc for the other side he says the physiotherapy is only a waste of money, to come off the meds as none are of any use as it’s all in my head.
My family doc says it is neuropathic pain
The neurosurgeon says it is traumatic musculoskelty stress with mild degeneration with silent degenerative changes.
My own option is none of them are right and having lost the plot I decided to go for a thermal image and the results speak for themselves pic.
the report on the thermol scan says i should see a ostiopath
My problem is where do I go from here?
1. First off am I mad can a mental issue show a physical problem as on thermal scan.
2. Why is the MRI Showing nothing i though this was the best available test
3. Does a MRI show muscle problems.
4. Should I march in and insist they find the problem
5. Or is it a case that thermal imaging is rubbish.
It there any test other than MRI that will find the problems please please any thoughts would be great

Doctors didn't help my husband's pain either.
He had osteo-arthritis in the left knee. I knew he responded well to DLPA when ten years prior it ended his tooth pain in a day.
I gave him DPLA, told him to take it before a meal.
I also went to GNC and bought Triple Joint Formula. Remember that he had no cartilage. The doctor told him about knee replacement surgery.
I told him that his pain would subside in a day and in three months he would have his knee regenerated. It happened exactly that way. Having similar DNA, his brother tried DLPA for chronic pain all over from an accident. It relieved it by 90%, he said. I would help him with the 10%, but only if he asks. Apparently he's happy with 90%. Oh well.
DLPA for me just makes me anxious. People with anxiety attacks just don't need DLPA.
I hope that something like DLPA, Triple Joint (Glucosamine, Chrondroitin, and MSM) could help.
DLPA has the pain-killing properties second only to morphine. It is an amino acid, and it time my husband didn't need it anymore.
It's one of those painkillers that one ends up not needing anymore, the results being cumulative.

I hate that you are suffering from so much pain and I'm sorry that you cannot get the help that you need. Unfortuantely with chronic pain there is no real way to detect where pain is being caused, so if there is something causing it that doctors can't find, then it is very hard to fix it. MRIs wouldn't show it and unfortunately there are no other real tests that can. Have you spoken about going on long-term painkillers to help ease it?

Thanks for your comments
i have been taking 5 tabs a day for 5 years none stop. from the previous poster it is apparent that the states have far better tabs then Ireland. i am self employed so the day time tabs cant be too strong and i suffer a lot during the day at night its not as bad as the tabs are twice as strong. i have pain in 6 areas and when one eases up another takes, over if it was in one place i could put up with it i was hopeing someone out there might have used thermol imaging to track a problem and would tell me how they got on. mine was able to show all 6 problem areas on the scan but now i have to find a doc who knows what to do with this info,as thermol is new here.

Hi Peter, the tabs may be better here but they also cost you an arm and a leg, so take heart there. Hopefully someone out here will have had an experience with it and share with you. I'm pulling for you. Let me know if you have any issues and I'll be sure to try to help as best I can. :-) Stay strong!
