ABDOMINA PAIN NAUSEA ON DEPO SHOT!

hi. this is late but I'm 16 and have been on the depo shot for a year now. the only side effect I had was no period. until now.. I was supposed to get my next shot a week ago and today I'm very ill, threw up 17 times in the last 10 hours, and have the worst cramps ever. I'm considering going to the doctor cause I think something is terribly wrong. last time I threw up before last night was about 3 years ago. I love being on depo cause I get no period and it works great. which birth control should I switch to?

Were you on the depo shot when you got pregent ?

I was on depo shot for about 6 months and I would get sick every month right after I got the shot. Terrible nausea, bloating, stomach cramps. I would be stuck in bed for days feeling like I was dying. Throwing up everything. It's been about 4 months since I had the shot and I haven't gotten sick for 2 moths so I hope it over with cause that's the worst sickness I have ever had.

you sound just like me!!! A couple weeks after getting my depo injection in FEB i have been feeling horrible. It started on night out of nowhere i broke out with this hit flash/fever and very nauseated. I thought i had a stomach flu, then the next day i was fine i ate alittle and slept like a baby. My symptoms seem to have gotten a little worse. I have really bad nausea, hot flashes, not able to sleep good when i do fall asleep i cannot stay asleep the whole night i wake up off and on, i have night sweats my whole body will sweat especially around my neck and chest area. I sometimes have an appetite and then sometimes i dont. I am sensitive to smells and get nauseous and get very weak. I get dizzy when I stand for a few seconds and then it goes away. Some days i am ok and some days are horrible. I have lost interest in my daily activities i do not want to play basketball anymore or go out with my friends. When i feel nausea i get hot flashes and i just want to lay down and i lay down for hours and hours at a time. I also get irregular heart beats and fast heart beats. I was perfectly fine until i got this 3rd injection. Now, I called where i got the shot from and spoke with a nurse there and she said since this is my 3rd injection my body should be use to it. So now i am very stressed out that this is not the depo shot doing this to me. Mind you, i have not had sex in years (i am 31 years old last time i had sex was a few years ago) so i cannot be pregnant. I do not have any other illnesses nor do i take meds.I tell you exactly what i feel like.. i feel like a stressed out pregnant women haha. Also, a couple days i had a bowel movement and had menstrual like cramps after and when i wiped down there i was spotting blood. The next morning i used the restroom had dark yellow urine, and when i wiped it smelled like old blood like i was either on my cycle or trying to start. I havent had anymore spotting blood since. I am due for my next injection April 19, but i WILL NOT Be going back because i have a very strong feeling this shot is the cause of everything. Is there someone out there that can relate to me or have felt like this or is feeling like this now on the depo? Is this the depo shot making me feel this horrible?

sounds like me right. Can you still feel really nauseous, hot flashes, night sweats around the neck area, not able to sleep good, dizzy, weak,,, just feeling blah being on the 3rd injection?

Hi there I have been on the depo for nearly a week I don't know if my symptoms are to do with it but I've been feeling sick all the time and pains in my stomach I'm confused c

I just got my first ingection on 4/11/14 and since I got it, ive felt really bad somach pains and cramps and today (4/14/14) i threw up.. I still feel nausious as hell though.. Also I have a newborn that is almost 2 months old.. Could I be pregnant?

I just got off of it and still have severe pains, wanted to get them checked out. How are things with you now? Any progress

Im in the sane boat as you!! I don't what to do I feel nauseous all day long, I went to the doc and birth control pills made me sick and I was sent to a OBGYN and she put me on the depo shot!! I FEEL SO SICK I HAD TO EVEN GO TO THE ER!! because I could stop throwing up!! I don't know what to do, I even told here what if it doesn't suit my body what can u do, she said don't worry ull be fine!!  I had no idea about the bad experiences of the depi shot

I have the same symptoms, but eating helps, even when you can...just eat slowly.

I FEEL FOR YOU ALL. When I was 19 and in a former marriage I had a miscarriage at age 19. I was told I wouldn't be able to have children after that. My doctor really didn't give me a good explanation at the time. And I never got a second opinion. As time went by I never got pregnant again. I have had HORIBLE menstrual cycles since I first started my period. Well onto my new husband of three years now and I start having morning sickness and being tired all the time. I didn't understand what was going on. Cause I new i couldn't be pregnant, right. Cause doctor told me I couldn't conceive. Just as a precaution I took a pregnancy test and YES I was pregnant. Everything was going great. The baby was very healthy growing bigger and bigger. By my 5th month I started having cramps.one thing led to another and I went into labor and my baby boy Liam was stillborn. This about made me loose it. I was 5 months 2 weeks. This was June 10th, 2015. 8 days later I got my first depot shot. I was having terrible pains in my abdomen. I thought it was from me loosing the baby. As time passed like 4 weeks. I noticed I had stopped bleeding but I was still in terrible pain, constantly. By the time my next shot was due I didn't want it because I wanted to be pregnant. So i waited to get my shot. No period for 5 months. Well I was still having the worst pain I've ever felt. Was nauseated all the time. I thought maybe I should go get the shot maybe it'll help. Wrong, it made it worse. This is my second shot i have been clotting and spotting a thick brown like substance. And the smell is awful. I asked my doctor what was going on he said its normal. Well I don't think it's normal at all. I have night sweats. Moodiness. I'm tired all the time. My body hurts. I didn't feel like this before the shots. Its 32 degree outside and I have my air conditioner on. I just don't think this is safe. And I will be finding an alternative. The only thing I do like about it is no periods. That part is awesome. But the pain. I can't deal with it.

I have had two shots and experienced the same as you...sometimes the cramps are so bad followed by diarrhoea. I am also experiencing body aches all over especially my back and ribs and breast tenderness. I had the second after I was clotting for 5 weeks and and the doctor told me it was just my body adjusting. Feel constantly tired and flu like so def will not be having a 3rd shot

Sorry to hear but I am going through the same exact situation. I am wondering if you have gotten any relief or found out anything more after going off the Depo Injection????
