Hello there! My friend suffers from diabetes and anihidrosis. I haven’t heard much about anihidrosis before and when I tried to look it up on the internet, it only showed info about inability to sweat in horses and I suppose some things are different between people and horses. Can you give me more information about this anihidrosis condition? Thanks

You misspelled it and that may be the reason you didn’t get many results. You have an extra I in the word as it is called anhidrosis. Although Google usually corrects misspelled words, I reckon it failed to do so now or you didn’t notice the options. Anyway, yes anhidrosis is an inability to sweat and tolerate heat. It is a common diabetes complication but it could be caused by many other disorders or neurological illnesses like Guillain-Barre syndrome, autonomic neuropathy, it could be due to problems with sweat glands, excessive dehydration, due to certain drugs, etc. Anhidrosis could be dangerous and even life-threatening abut it could be also treated. The treatment usually depends on the cause and by treating the cause, we may reverse anhidrosis and also prevent heat stroke and severe dehydration.
