Hello

I was on  Atenolol (50mg) for seven months and it has worked, but it has also caused my hair to become extremely fragile and thin. My doctor finally agreed that I should stop taking it, but in order to maintain the good results I achieved with Atenolol he also decided to switch me to Micardis.

Since I’m starting Micardis almost immediately, my hair didn’t really get a chance to recover and what I’m also interested in is - will Micardis also possibly cause similar problems related to hair loss?

Hi Stacy,

I've been prescribed Micardis recently and I did a thorough research into it's side effects - hair loss doesn't seem to be one of them. So, at least the good news for you is that Micardis shouldn't contribute to you losing more hair.

Are you currently taking any other medications? What you might want to try to strengthen your hair and help it grow is a good vitamin B supplement - it helps a lot when it comes to hair and nails, as I discovered when I was trying to get rid of extremely fragile nails.
