To find out if you have back pain or kidney pain, you really do need a doctor.
I've had a kidney infection once though, and I can tell you it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. (I say that as a woman who has given birth twice.) The pain was incredibly sharp and really present. It got worse with movement, and kept me up all night long. It also got worse when pressing on the general area of the kidneys. I also had urinary tract symptoms like frequent urination, burning, etc, along with a sharp fever.
If you recognize any of that perhaps you're dealing with a kidney issue? That does really require medical attention as it only gets worse. You'd need antibiotics ASAP.
