Hi I'm a 19 year old girl.
This is kind of embarrassing but really I'm pretty much at my wits end :-( Basically about last october I noticed I had pain when having intercourse with my boyfriend. This has basically got worse and worse. It's just at the entrance to my vagina and it's quite red down there. I kind of hoped that it would go away by itself and I tried using thruch creams but nothing helped. Eventually I went to the doctor at around christmas. She had a look and gave me a cream, I cant remember what it's called now but I think it was a stronger cream to help with thrush. This didnt work so she looked again and gave me a different cream, to no avail. She then decided it migh be hepes and gave me cream for it but it made no difference at all. She then gave me one with a cortisone which made things a lot worse. After this She put me on a tablet to get rid of thrush and it calmed things down but I was just back where I started. She gave me another of these pills and it still hasn't helped. I've tried taking acidophilus but it makes no difference either :-(
It feels almost as if the skin is chapped but its not like scratched or anything. there aren't any blisters or anything like that. She did do some kind of test and it came back saying that its thrush but none of the treatment is making any difference. It feels almost like burning or chafing if I have sex and extra lubricant makes no difference. It always hurts really bad after sex as well. I don't think it could be an STD as i've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we were both each others first time. I had Implanon inserted as my contraceptive method from the june before but it didn't work out and I had constant spotting for about 6 months before I got it taken out. I'm now on the contraceptive pill, microlite.
If anyone could help me out or just give me an idea I'd really appreciate it!
thanks

Hi Erin! Untill about an hour ago, I wasn't realizing why there are SO many women with the same problem as yourself! I have just talked to a women with virtually the exact same thing, and this is what we came up with! LINERS! or PADS! It's a change in the way they have included an extra absorbancy lining! And it is drawing out the natural mositures of your vainal area! Also they have SO many chemicals in them thaat they actully cause a gas = with the interaciton from your urine, and slight yeast! so it is a catch 22! SO do you think this could be it for you? Have you noticed "New and Improved, Twice the Absorbanc etc. etc." OR have you just started a new pad type recently AND does it have a scent? Also women ALL have Thrush to some degree - and because their pills etc don't work, it is obviousluy some sort of rash or reaction1 What do you think?

hey! well i defiinately noticed that as well actually! BUT because I was putting creams and stuff on myself I decided not to let myself have a period and carried on taking the pill solidly for about 3 months lol so I dunno unless it would stay for 3 months even though I didnt use them... But I know what you mean about the pads I always feel really irritated after using them..

Yes i think we have it! IF you need pads go to your local health food store - they have natural ones - they aren't bleached or anything! Give them a try! Recently on the news Pampers have been sued by hundreds of parents because they brought out new diapers with twice the absorbancy and they created welts and severe rashes! And i really think this is what is going on with you! So air dry as much as possible, where cotton underwear, wash with non soap, non scented washes - such as spectrogel and physioderm and also there is Teraseptic - but I think you need something more netural! So just be gentl OK? Dab dont wipe OK? Let me know how things are going!
