I’ve been able to retract my foreskin all my life, but for the last six months I have had repeat issues with it becoming to tight, so tight that sometimes during sex or masturbation it can rip, if I leave it alone the tightness sometimes goes only to recur a week or so later, today whilst drying myself after a bath I noticed that the skin has begun to peel off. I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago and was told that I may need a circumcision, when she looked at it she said it may also be thrush (where from I’m not sure, I’ve only had one partner for the longest of times and there is nothing wrong with him) when I used the thrush cream however it just began to burn me so I stopped using it.
What do you think it could be?
Do I need to have the circumcision?
If it is thrush is there anything other than cream, which I can use?

I think you don’t need a circumcision for this kind of a problem you have, but what I do believe is that you actually have a thrush which can’t be transmitted only by the sexual intercourse but also by friction against damp underwear or by irritants in sheaths, as well as by some contraceptive creams or a herpes virus. So you see that your partner doesn’t have to be a transmitter, thrush can develop by its own.
As it is a hygiene problem, meaning you might have not washed it well under the foreskin so the cheesy material called smegma accumulated, what you should do is to wash it with hot water and add some kitchen salt so it looks like sea water. Maybe this would help in the meantime until you get yourself some creams or some other products to treat this disease. The treatment generally consists of anti fungal agents such as clotrimazole which can be taken as a pill or cream.
Until you get rid of it you should not have sex with your partner.
