Yesterday I was job shadowing my physical therapist and in his words “came very close to passing out”. I had gotten a bad hot flash (which I’ve been having since surgery in October) and then got super dizzy and light headed. He said I went down on my knees and bumped the front of my head on the counter. I blacked out right before I kneeled down and came to on my back. I assumed he had gotten to me and helped my lay down but am not completely sure. When I did come to he was at my side checking my pulse, his assistant got me water and cold wet rags while the technician got a wedge to lift my feet up. I was able to respond to him pretty quickly and my head didn’t hurt very much after I had hit it. When I was able to get up he helped me move to a cushioned table, took my blood pressure (which was fine) gave me a fruit bar and some water and after finishing with the patient he was with called my mom to let her know what happened. For the next 3 or so hours I got light headed a few times but did sit down. After around 4 hours after it had happened I was home and the back of my head started hurting. I got some sleep hoping to sleep it off but it’s been worse today. (About 32 hours after i blacked out) the pain has wrapped around the sides of my head but the front where I did hit it doesn’t hurt.
We called him earlier today to see if I somehow hit the back of my head but the office was already closed and won’t open till Monday so I’m not sure if I should go to my doctor and get it checked or not.
