The same thing happens to me and has been happening to me since my teens. It occurs when I stand for too long or stand up after sitting for a while. I have had neurologists, cardiologists and endocrine dr. run tests. They called it "cardiac syncope," ie fainting due to to heart complications. The closest I've come to a diagnosis is that it is a blood circulation issue. I haven't had heathcare recently so I'm not sure if they have turned a corner in understanding this medically.
My blackouts (now just blackout warnings - I sit down now before I pass out because I recognize the indicators are REALLY HAPPENING) are proceeded by:
- A drop in the stomach
- A brigtness of color, neon almost, which fades to white (and eventually black if I pass out).
- A loss of the traditional gravity, balance issues.
- A gradual but quick loss of hearing, sounds are far away, then "waawaa'd" beyond my ability to understand what I hear, then gone.

I am 34 and have had the same experience as the rest of you since the age of 16. It happened just last week, I am a vet tech in training and have to stand a lot at work during animal surgeries. I suddenly felt slightly lightheaded and then told my co-worker that I felt like I was going to pass out. That's the last thing I remember; turns out I blacked out in the hallway and again outside. My co-worker was trying to get me to her car to lie down & once I did I came to. Since then I have felt really awful, like I have the flu. Anyway, I understand what each of you are going through, it's scary, especially knowing that it will happen again. I have been to doctors, cardiologists, neurologists with no diagnosis or treatment plan. I don't smoke, drink, or party. I eat right, exercise and stay hydrated, yet I feel dizzy weekly and passout frequently. It's an interference in my daily life, so if anyone out there discovers what causes this please respond.

Similar thing happened to me a few days ago.
I hadn't eat a lot the day before but had exercised hard. I woke up, had some breakfast and jogged to catch a train. Once on the train I had to stand as there was no seats, and within 5 minutes of the journey, I was struck by a wave of nausea that was so powerful I begun to retch on the train. I also broke out in a cold sweat.
Once it got to my stop I left the train and I could barely walk because my legs were weak. Then my vision went completley black and I was staggering into people saying, "sorry" but not really been able to hear myself. I eventually staggered into a seat and within a few minutes I recovered.
It was the scariest moment of my life. Blind, deaf and feeling sick.

ok well the same kinda thing happened to me about 3 times in my life now... but it's kinda different.
So for instance today, I fell back on my tailbone (it didnt hurt bad) so i got up & walked around a little bit.. and then all of a sudden my vision starts blurring slowly and it starts to fade to black (It never entirely turned black) and my hearing gets all fuzzy. I didn't get unusual sweats, goosebumps, or nausea, so i'm not sure what happened. well I realized this happening, of course, and went to sit down for about a minute or so. Then I got up and I was perfectly fine. by the way I'm in my early teens and I was at dance class when this happened.. I'm pretty sure nothing's wrong with my blood sugar either.

Well, for me when I almost blacked out, it was in the middle of church, they were using inscense and it smelled really bad after a while. My vision went pixelated, everything got hotter, my arm went numb, everything I heard was muffled. Then finally I decided to leave and go get a breath of fresh air. Normally it could be caused by hunger or lack of sleep but its easily fixed by not staying still and going outside

This happened to me last night on the train. I was going home from the bar. had 3 drinks, which is not a lot for me. I was standing on the train, suddenly I got kind of nauseated, then my vision slowly blurred, and then progressively blurred until i couldn't see anything. My hearing progressively disappeared, too. I was talking to a random person on the train and I can't even tell you how that convo ended, because I couldn't see or hear anything he was saying. I was freaked out but remained calm as I was fully conscious and aware of my surroundings. I just couldn't see or hear. Grabbed the rail and made my way to a seat that had just opened up. Sometimes if I stand for long periods of time, particularly without moving, I get nautious and need to sit. But the worst outcome from that has been overheating and then puking. I've never lost my senses. very odd. It's also odd how this is happening to a lot of us while on trains? Is that something maybe?

I am a 14 year old athlete and i play hockey pretty much everyday. If im not doing that im working out. I had a dry cough before my game on the weekend and then after warm up i couldnt stop coughing. I didnt want to leave the game so i played anyway. After the game my dry cough was even worse, and then when i got home, all of a sudden i got really cold. I turned the heat up to 25C and had two blankets on top of me and i was still cold. Then the next day (yesterday) i had a fever, and i got dizzy a lot. Today the fever has seemed to pass, im still really tired. THEN i went to go eat breakfast and i got so dizzy i lost my sight for five minutes, and i was sweating quite a bit. Could anyone tell me what this is??

i was taking a shower with my boyfriend and i felt strange and i knew something was wrong. so i tried to get fresh air by opening the bathroom window. i got back in the shower, my vision was blurry already because i wasnt wearing my glasses, but it was getting worse and then my hearing faded. i told my boyfriend that i thought i might pass out and right after i said that i fell into his arms. it felt like my mind dropped into my stomach. i went blind and i couldnt hear off and on. for moments i would drift in and out of conciousness, when i did that i could only sihloettes. i was so scared when i was concious, because i couldnt see and i could barely hear. it seemed like i was deep inside myself, and i was trying to escape through my eyes, i know that doesnt seem to make sense but that the only way i can explain it. finally i regained full conciousness. thank god my boyfriend was thyere with me the whole time. if it wasnt for him, i dont know what would happen. him calling my name in my face brought me back because i was trying to follow his faint voice. its nearly impossible to explain. i was trying to come out of the state i was in. i was concious but also unconcious at the same time. i knew something bad was happening and i knew i needed to get back to real life but i didnt know how.
i have no idea why this happened and im scared it will happen again.

I am starting to have this happen as well as I am either sitting down or standing up. The first time it happened was in November while talking to my parents and my vision went black and my ears started ringing, also I felt like I was going to throw up. Also it happened today when I was heading to school, but I was sweating even more then last time.. It startled me that it was actually happening again and I didn't know what was wrong at all. Honestly being a 17 year old female and having this happen twice and it being scary isn't really good!!:'(

this happens to me often, but it is usually while i am smoking or after , and there is lots of things that can make this happened , first if u smoke , smoking will make ur blood pressure go high and sometimes if ur smoking too fast while standing , this will make ur blood pressure go high very fast and cause this situation . blacking out and all the symptoms that you have mentioned are your bodys way to get its pressure to normal , cold sweats etc . the same happened when ur sitting down and get up fast , with some people it isn’t as severe as in when getting up fast they will just feel alittle dizzy but it goes away in a little while , but that really depends on their normal blood pressure , i mean for me it is usually very low , and the sudden change makes things really bad for me . so blood pressure is the most common reason for those symptoms , so is dehydration , but there is a lot of other reasons that are less obvious and more scary like a cardiac problem , my advice is , think about what exactly you was doing at the time of your black out , how often it happened and point those things to ur doctor even if he doesn’t ask you , because some doctors don’t know what they are talking about , trust me :P i am a medical student and i have lots of contact with doctors you will be surprised on how many important things some of them miss when they do a diagnosis . good luck :) hope its nothing to worry about ;)

Same exact thing happened to me so I googled it! I'm 15 and today was at work just standing there when I felt a bit sick, then my inner ears felt really hot, next thing I knew I couldn't hear and felt really weak, my hearing was muffled and my vision gone, I couldn't see or hear. I sat down and drank water and was then fine... it was creepy cause I had no idea what was happening to me, might see a doctor.

I get the same problem. It doesn't happen too often though, but I've experienced it up to 8 times in the last 3 years (I'm 20 btw). I've noticed it occurs in the mornings when I'm standing. It's not lack of food or dehydration as I have breakfast before I go anywhere. Nevertheless, it's a really strange experience, it's like I suddenly start feeling really hot and I can't cool down, then my head starts feeling very light. The temporary blindness, ringing in my ears and nausea all start and all I want to do is sit down. It's strange though, as soon as I sit down I start feeling much better and then I'm practically back to normal within 10 minutes. It scares me when I lose my sight for a few minutes though. I have seen a doctor (only once) and he dismissed it and claimed it was anxiety. I'm not an anxious person at all and standing in queues in shops or on metros are not at all stressful experiences, especially since I do those sorts of things daily. I'm just assuming that it has something to do with blood pressure. The fact that we all seem to be girls might mean there's a hormonal element to it. I'm pleased I'm not the only one. I had googled it a few years ago but I've never found anyone with similar symptoms as me until now.
