Hello! I have just come home from my routine gyno appointment and when I went to the toilet I noticed some blood on my panties. Could it be that the doc irritated something that casued this bleeding. What should I do?

Hi! I experienced the same problem a month ago. I also got scared and called my doc right away. She explained that she was performing a pap test, and it often happens that while doing this, some blood may appear. It is because they are using a small brush to remove cells from inside the cervix. These cells come from tissue that is very thin and prone to bleeding. The bleeding goes away on its own, and there is nothing one should worry about. If you had pap done, this may be your case as well. If the bleeding persists, you should call your doctor.

Hi! I just went for my first time ever to the gyno and he did me a pap and also a vaginal ultrasound. After i came back everything was fine but at night when i went to the bathroom i noticed some very light blood, like if my period had just come but i'm nowhere near my period so i just thought maybe i got irritated there or something because of the tests, so i did not worry, i kept bleeding for like a day and then it stoped, the next day it stopped i had intercourse with my boyfriend and extremely scared he told me i was bleeding during intercourse, and then we noticed i even spotted the bed, he asked if it could be my period but i know for sure it's not, i don't know if it's the tests they did me because it was my first time or something, but i've never bled so much during sex, not even my first time!! and of course it was extremely embarassing with my bf, if someone could help it would be great!

I have an appointment with the doctor in two weeks to see my pap's result but still I would like to have some sort of calming thoughts....

Many times the doctor gets a little to "feisty" when doing a pap test. Paps are really not supposed to hurt, just a little uncomfortable, and there should be no bleeding after. Once in a while, especially if the doctor gets a little to "rough" you will tend to bleed. A few times this has happened to me and i complained that it hurt and i bled after sex. This was because i was irritated by the aggressivness of the test.
The next time, ask your doctor to please be a bit more gentle. They do have to get as many good cells as possible but sometimes it feels like they are digging for gold. :'(

I have not had a period since July early menopause, I went to the Doc yesterday to do a pap test and I let her know this info, this morning I came on my period. I am very upset because I feel like she did do something to cause me to come on.
