Hey guys, i had all his bleeding, i was on and off my period for 3 months, it was every other week.

It has now stopped after 3 months, the first time for 3 months i'm ovulating and waiting to see if i get my next period to find out if i'm pregnant or not.

HANG OUT THERE LADIES! it doesn't last that long! dont take any medications from your GP for it! do it all naturally.

I'm currently on depo and will be stopping. I see from all the posts that there is some negative reactions to taking depo. I started them after I gave birth to my now 13mth old son. Thing is, I wasn't supposed to have children, I didn't ovulate and cycles were irregular. I started taking natural supplements vitex and red clover blossom. I was on those for about a year when I found out I got pregnant. They fixed my cycles and made everything normal after about 2-3mths use. I took 2 capsules a day and that worked for me. It sounds like I'm going to have to get on them again to fix my cycles once depo is stopped. Maybe some of you ladies can try them. I'm not saying that it will help everyone, but something is better than nothing when you want help. Good luck.

I also got one shot, and never went back for another. I have been bleeding heavily, nonstop, for one year and nine days. They have examined me up and down, ultrasounds, uterine biopsies, and the whole nine yards. I have tried ibuprofen, iron, estrogen, soy isoflavones, and even birth control ad nothing has helped.
My doctor has told me that if the bleeding hasn't stopped by March, that we will start looking into surgical procedures.
In other words, the depo can do really really bad things to your body. They don't put enough emphasis on the negative side affects when discussing birth control options either.
The depo shot would not have even been an option for me had I known that any of this was even possible.
I hope yours has stopped by now, and that things are going much better for you than they are for me.

My advice to anyone else::
I have learned that the negative side affects for deposit outweigh the benefits tenfold. The majority of people I have talked to have had an awful experience either taking or coming off of Depo Provera. The only ones I know who have had a positive experience are those still taking the shot who haven't had a period.
Err on the side of caution with this stuff. Its terrible!!

I got the depo once and it's been four months of nonstop bleeding. Your post has totally freaked me out. Has your period stopped since you wrote this post?

I'm 17 years old and I had the same experience with the Depo Birth Control I got 3 shots regularly when they were due but i stopped getting them in about 3-4 months ago and whenever I'm sexually active with my boyfriend i bleed right after. Recently i had sex with him and I've had constant bleeding for several days, and im starting to believe I ma have miscarried. I have no control over my body i wear tampons and pads every day. I wouldn't recommend depo

Advice - your 18 - unless you magically finished college, have a career set, got married and own a home - you are way too young to have a child (not because you are young) - you have the world in your hands right now - go where you want, be what you want and do what you want - you don't realize that having a child before 25 is too young until your 34, oldest is 13 (yes and I was 21) and you can't turn back or pause life to get on a plane to the Bahamas (unless you bring kids which adds to bill and you won't be able to afford because your min wage job barely cuts the monthly rent and you end up on welfare - stop the cycle now.... stop rushing life..:: 18-25 are the exploring years to see what you like to do and where you would like to live - no one can raise a child who doesn't know themself 100% - well they can, but the struggle is real...:
