Yep that's your period congrats I had that the day after my birthday and it lasted for around 3 days after a month *might be different for you* I got my period and it looked normal so no need to worry *it also sucks because you might get it at school like I did*

So I'll be 13 in December and my body has already started maturing. Yesterday my stomach wasn't feeling well (not due to the discharge) and I went to the bathroom and there was this clump that looked like discharge but it was brown. I thought it was poop but it wasn't. Every other time I went to the bathroom there was more. It was like that 2 days ago and yesterday. Today there's nohing. I have no idea what to do. Ok so today I got home from school and pulled down my pants to use the bathroom and there was this brown stuff in my panties. I thought it was poo. I did some research and some people said they had this for 6 months before there periods and other people said they had this for 3 days before their first period.
