Birth control can be very effective but it is not 100% so there is a chance that you could be pregnant. When I was with my ex I was on birth control and we had unprotected sex all the time, but I never got pregnant. Its definitely not safe to do that if you don't want to be pregnant so I would recommend using condoms. If your period is late, take a pregnancy test or go get a blood test done at planned parenthood.
