My father had cardiac surgery. He has coronary artery stant put…. Anyway I can’t really explain but what I wanted to know is what the treatment is after a coronary stent procedure, anything special that he should do or not? I’ll appreciate any help.

Because the coronary artery stents are foreign metallic objects precautions have to be taken to prevent them from being covered with clot. I think that are usually meds like aspirin, plavix. He should take it few weeks after the procedure. in 4 - 6 weeks because the stent is usually completely covered by natural tissue during that period and the risk of clot formation is nearly absent by that time.
