Hello, guys. My mother has been suffering from vertigo for months. At the end, she is diagnosed with cervical arthritis. I would like to know how these two items are linked. I have read somewhere that ossification in cervical vertebrae can make compression on blood vessels. These vessels are the ones that lead blood to the brain. However, there are other mechanisms which I would like to find out more about.

Hi, there. It is possible that your mother suffers from vertigo due to cervical arthritis. Ossification of cervical vertebra can affect blood vessels that lead blood to the brain. These vessels go through foramina that are localised in these vertebras. If a foramen is ossificated, it can make a pressure on blood vessel. In time, there is not enough amount of blood going to the brain. One of the manifestations can be vertigo. Your mother should be consistent in her therapy. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
