Hi. I'm doing a research on my own and it is all because of my husband. He doesn’t want to seek for medical help but I'm sure he developed some serious lung condition.
For months now I have noticed that he suffers from shortness of breath (dyspnea) persisting for months to years wheezing.
First we thought it was from his bad heart but I take him to cardiologist and EKG has shown that has heart is recovering just fine after heart attack last year.
He refuses to go to the doctor.
I have read something about some disease called obstructive pulmonary disease and I was wondering could this be the cause.

Well, I have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease over than five years ago and I have recovered pretty god from it.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a group of lung diseases involving limited airflow and varying degrees of air sac enlargement, airway inflammation, and lung tissue destruction.
There are two most common disease which are causing this kind of symptoms- emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common forms of COPD.
They could complicate and cause Arrhythmias and pneumonias if not treated early.
The most important thing you should tell your husband is that the leading cause of COPD is smoking!
I have smoked over than 30 years and look what happened to me.
Over than five years I'm taking some inhalers that dilate the airways (bronchodilators) and sometimes theophylline.
