Hello all, this is something I’d like to see if anyone has gone through or knows about. This is kind of a last-resort after going through many, many internet searches.
It’s been around 6 months that I’ve had constipation and it was around the 2-month mark when I started being unable to have any bowel movement at all (also when I started actively seeking advice). I’d been using enemas solely for a time (every 4-5 days w no bowel movement, it was back to the enema), but lately I’ve been using MiraLax on the daily. It was prescribed by a doctor and I am not yet 18. The first try at MiraLax, once I had a normal bowel movement, I stopped it. The constipation immediately started back up and I’ve been using it again. This time around, it’s been over a week with mainly just a lot of thin and small stool occurrences and I have stopped taking the MiraLax today once I read some articles on the dangers of it that are not widely recognized.
Throughout these 6 months, I’ve had no abdominal pain/cramps minus once or twice, no bloody stools, no nausea or vomiting. I haven’t lost or gained any weight. I cut a new food out of my diet that I’d been eating almost daily starting six months ago thinking I may have uncovered the problem, but alas, no results for four days without the removal of that product! I am at my wit’s end and for those of you who take enemas, you’ll know it’s not an option I want to keep relying on. Today there was one white stringy substance attached to a small stool, but I could tell it wasn’t a worm most likely and looked more like white mucus. I am feeling very discouraged, please let me know what anyone thinks. I know this sounds peculiar and that’s why I worry no one will have an answer, but if you do, I’d be so grateful for any tips. As a side note, I have a relatively severe scoliosis curve, but a doctor said it’s highly unlikely for that to cause these sorts of symptoms?
