I read the posts and am truly sorry all of you are having such difficulty. Cancer is tough enough to deal with and then throw in life long problems. I had the TRAM flap procedure less than a year ago. I developed a hernia and had difficulty sitting up. It took me months and months to get to the point where i could sit up in bed instead of rolling but I did. It was painful at times, but worth the effort. I started doing planks. This is where ;you rest on your elbows and forearms on the floor, stretch your legs out and pull your body up like doing a push-up. I could barely hold for a second but now I am up to nearly 30 seconds. Big accomplishment.

I suffered terrible bloating especially after a meal. I found lighter meals to be better for me. I felt better wearing the compression binding I was given in the hospital but since I have definition from my waist to hips, the darn thing kept rolling up around my waist or at least where my waist used to be. My naval became necrotic and went through two reconstruction surgeries to get it to be a small dimple. But I have swelling around it again after meals and it is still tender.

One day I started doing research regarding waist training and came upon several sights for corsets. Steel boned corsets in particular. It took a couple of months to break it in but I wear it most days at work and it is comfortable. The meal boning holds my back straight and I don't have the lower back pain I did before. My stomach does not swell like it used to and I don't have those sharp unexpected pains while wearing the corset.

This may not be the answer for you but it has worked out so well that I am just ordering a second one.

I wish you all the best of luck finding a solution for yourself. God Bless.

Where did you locate the corset?  I would like to try it to see if it would help me as I have same issues starting in 2007 and getting worse.
