To be honest, for a 16 year old teenager, it was not much fun, but then we met and talked to some old guy suffering from Alzheimer's dementia. His state of mind has made me pretty upset, so I thought to get some info on dementia in elderly people. Is there a cure?

Unfortunately, no, there is not. We can slow the progressing of the condition by using various medicaments (they differ from one type of dementia to another), but the process will continue no matter what. In some serious kinds of dementia, like Alzheimer's is, at the end, the patient is completely helpless, when it comes to eating and hygiene.
