Hello. I am a guy 21 years old and I would like to know a bit more about dementia. I know that old people get it over time, or at least some of them. Could you explain if it is treatable – curable, and if it has something to do with Alzheimer's disease? I would be very grateful if you could explain me this.

It is treatable, and someone even noticed a 50% change for the better. But the ultimate cure does not exist. It has everything to do with the Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. It affects memory and ability to learn, reason, ability to make judgments, communicate and carry out daily activities.

Hi there,
You have to understand the fact that most types of dementia are nonreversible. This means that changes that happen in the brain caused by this condition can not be stopped or turned back. So the medication and treatment can only slow down the process but it can not cure it. The fact is that Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia. The fact is that dementia can be caused by a small stroke but in adults dementia is called by Lewy body disease. This is also condition that can cause problems with your brain and memory. Treatment depends on the condition causing the dementia. Some people may need to stay in the hospital for a short time.
All the best,
Danella
