I have had spinal fusion of 3 vertibrea and it was the best thing I have ever done. I am off pills, many many pills. I also became very depressed during the pain years. I went for counciling and antidepressants. I feel great now. No pain, no drugs, I can do anything I want. A little loss of motion but so worth it. Back pain is never worth killing yourself over. Slow down, God has a plan for you this suffering will not be wasted.

I came across your post just today as I was researching for information. I so empathize and am wondering if you've found a solution yet?  I totally relate to what you wrote over a year ago. Chronic pain like this is debilitating, depressing and often unbearable. I hope you're still here and that you found help. Progress in treatments is amazing. I am 65 and had a very bad fall 35 years ago. It has caused terrible low back pain, including sciatic radiating pain, over these many years. Although not constant, it very much altered my life as far as career, marriage, depression. To this day I use cushions everywhere because they help when sitting.  But I can tell you I'm glad I'm still here with no other health issues. I, like you, am now once again on the hunt. A recent MRI shows dramatic change and I am convinced I can find something to help (other than meds, injections, exercise, etc.). If you are receiving email from this site, I would be glad to tell you what I find. My husband had a fabulous neurosurgeon in Phoenix, AZ for neck surgery about 7 yrs. ago and I hope to see him.

Hi my name is Jim I am 53 years old and for the last 4 years I have been suffering with L3,L4 and L5 with sever DJD with bulding disks in L3 and L4. The L5 has an annular tear, with stenosis on my right side affecting my S1 nerve. As of the last year I have been to 4 surgons trying to get help. But because I have gained 80lbs from non movment and steroid shots, no one will touch me. The only help I have gotten is from my chiropractor, and GP giving me oxcytion and perkset. My back is getting to the point where both of my legs and arms go numb and at time I fall.I live in the Phoenix Area of AZ. I recommend Dr Roger Smith and Dr William Stroham.

You have a joint on each side of your posterior pelvis.  One part is the Ilium and the other part of the joint is the sacrum.  Sacroiliitis  is inflammation in the joint which can cause pain and all other problems as any other inflamed joint.  I, myself, have arthritis in these joints and believe me, they cause me such pain and grief.  It is hard to take steps as it hurts initiating the step and putting pressure on the leg and pain when standing on my legs.  The only relief I get is 2 or 3 hotpacks on my back to deaden the pain.  I have to watch that I don't overdo the heat and burn myself.  Hope you get all your issues fixed.
