Hi was just looking for some advice, I am not getting anymore discharge than normal, no itching or burning and am not sore, but the discharge is staining my underwear. When black underwear has been washed it looks like it has been bleached, just in the crotch area where been in contact with discharge. What is this?

i am have the same problem and i have noticed that sometimes the discharge smells like amonia. i went to my doctor and she had no answers.

I myself suffered from this and I checked high and low hoping for a solution. After dealing with it for a better part of a decade and being embarrassed and upset by it I found a solution. It is on the pricier side, but it is well worth it if you have dealt with this for any length of time to know the type of embarrassment and upset I am talking about.

its just odd that with how common this seems to be that there are next to no answers as to what can be done, i asked docter an he had nothing to say about it

I do think that discharge is normal for some women although I don't think that it's always explainable. YOu have to realize that the lining of the vagina has mucous on it and that it can spit out something once in awhile, sort of like a runny nose or something. Does that make sense? Is that what ou're expereiencing or is it something else?

You are right. It does look like mucous. My mom said that it was because of my weight because I am overweight. Is there no way to get rid of it? I am so embarased by my underwear. It's one of the reasons I stopped doing my laundry at my university and take it home every weekend. My mom won't let me get new underwear.

okay. i think it's really weird that it's so hard to find an answer to this. i have had the same "bleached" effect on my underwear and i've never mentioned it bc it is SOOO embarassing! and i seriously thought i was the only one this ever happened to until i lived with a female roommate. i don't know the whole story behind it, but i think i've figured it out. the other day i was reading the gyno health section of some magazine...and it was discussing questions girls had about do's and don't's of cleaning inside and out of your vagina. there was a question about cleaning with peroxide....i dont know who would actually do that, but..whatever...anyway the answer went on about how you should never do that and you don't even need to clean the actual inside of your vagina bc it's self cleaning with the secretions and all...but the part that was intersesting to me was th doctor answering the question mentioned that the vagina makes a form of peroxide to help clear bacteria and then flushes it out with the secretions we all get in our panties from time to time...so it kind of clicked to me that peroxide can be used to bleach hair and clothing, so maybe that's what's happening when there's our bodies on peroxide in secretions that sit in our underwear all day and over and over again...it turns into a bleaching effect. i'm going to look for more information on it, but i hope this helps. i know it made me feel so so so much better knowing not only does it happen to a lot of girls, but there may be a logical reason instead of just thinking that i'm super gross and weird.

yes! i just looked it up, and your vagina produces hydrogen peroxide...which everyone knows has bleaching power. i feel so relieved. and a little special for putting it together. it really bothers me that i have seen posts from people saying they've asked their doctors about it, only to get a shrug of the shoulders.

I have the same problem.... but i havent started my period yet. When i go to the bathroom my pee ussally look like it has oil in it floating on top of my pee. And sometimes it is kinda clear. It doesnt burn but like once a month it will kinda itch.I tend to wear black under wear and every time i look in it...it seems to have a white clear stuff in the crouch area. It stains and my mom doesnt know i have discharge yet. Do i have my discharge. I need answers please reply
