I'm a 22 yr old woman, and I have been taking Marvelon-28 birth control for about 8-9 months now.
Well.. I have had this bruise-like thing on the side of my left calf near my knee.. I believe I have had it for about 2 weeks now.
When I first noticed it.. I thought it was just a bruise.. I thought I bumped my leg and didn't know.. which I do sometimes.
Well.. just today I noticed it's still there.. the bruising is mostly gone.. but still there.
Anyways.. I'm not sure what to think of this. I haven't had a blood clot in my leg before. So I'm not sure what to look for. The one part of the bruise looks like a little bubble.. but it's not swollen or raised. It's the only part of the bruise thats still dark. It's about 1/2inch by 1/2inch big.. but it's small in size.
How would I know if it's a clot in my leg? It doesn't hurt at all... it very, very slightly feels tender to the touch...
If someone could tell me what I should watch for, or some kind of signs it is a blood clot in my leg... I would gladly appreciate all the info I can get.

I've heard that if you stand on your tip toes or have someone push up on your heal..you do not have a clot.. Also look for the homans sign... This is another way.. But when in doubt get it checked out by your doctor.....
