Hello, all. I'm female, 34 years of age. I'm scheduled for second brain surgery next week. First one was gama knife, but it didn't work, tumors grew back.
My neurosurgeon advises gama knife again, but I'm really afraid about outcome of this second one.
Does the healing process last longer after second surgery? How much time does it take to restore full control over your body? What to expect in first week or two? I have wonderful husband who will be there for me and he'll help me in any way he can, but I want to hear experiences from other people.

Hi, Martha.
A close friend of mine had multiple brain surgeries. From his experience, I can say that first week is tough. From that point it's up to your organization. You must give your body enough time to rest. Start with simple things, like house cleaning or something similar and don't overdo. But, keep in mind that you must not be lying in bed all day long. That can make things worse.
Ask your husband to help you in performing basic tasks and keep yourself occupied.
I almost forgot. His doctor recommended him a little exercising while he was waiting for surgery, so he went for a walk every day. Maybe you should try it, too?
Good luck!
