Just found out I have Ni allergies, Angioedema and Urticaria...ie facial swelling and welts (palm size) that itch. I'm now Carrying a EpiPen 24/7, scared to eat anything relying on coffee, toast and eggs. I've searched and found that 95%+ of all foods contain nickel, unfortunately the diet info is in a language I can't read. Anyone has a nickel free diet with serving size or ounces could you please share.

Hello, z4gyrl.

Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all nickel-free diet as different people may be allergic to different levels of nickel.

However, some general guidelines that may help those with a nickel allergy include:

  • Avoiding processed foods and canned goods, as they often contain nickel in the lining
  • Choosing fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish, nuts, legumes, and whole grains
  • Avoiding chocolate, cocoa, and carob
  • Avoiding tea and coffee, as they are high in nickel
  • Limiting consumption of dairy products, as they may contain nickel
  • Limiting consumption of processed foods containing yeast, as it may contain nickel
  • Avoiding food and drinks containing soybeans, as it is high in nickel
  • Avoiding food and drinks containing licorice, as it also contains nickel

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
