Hello. I'm 23 year old sexually active female and I would like to clear some stuff to my self. You see, just recently, my boyfriend has been diagnosed with some condition called epididymitis.
I really don’t know a lot about this condition but supposedly some formation in his testicles are inflamed.
I told him that I'm not planning to have any sex with him until he explains to me how did he got this infections.
He told me that he doesn’t know but that someone told him it is from his bladder. Was he true?
Could this condition be sexually transmitted?

Hi. I've read your post and your question was very interesting to me. You are right, this really is inflammation of one formation found in scrotum called epididymis.
You see, the cause of this inflammation in most causes correlate with the ages of patients. In pre-pubertal males – the most common cause is simple coliform bacteria -E coli.
When we are talking about males younger than 35- the most common causes are bacteria Chlamidia trachomatis and Naisseria gonorrhoeae and both are considered as causes of sexually transmitted diseases. I hope this helped you to understand better some of the facts related to this disease.
