My son is diagnosed with epididymitis after his doctor made some tests. That worries me and I don’t know how to be calm when I even don’t know what epididymitis means. I would like to know more about his condition. Also his doctor prescribed him some drug called Cypro, so I want to know how this medicine could affect him. Is Cypro usually used to treat epididymitis and what side effect should I be prepared to?

Epididymitis is inflammation of the epdidymis and significant cause of morbidity, when is acute. It is frequently observed by urologists, emergency medicine practitioners and primary care physicians. Epididymal pain and inflammation is caused by chronic epididymitis. Since the doctor prescribed him Cypro, I could conclude cause is some bacterial infection. Nonspecific bacterial infections such as urinary coliforms or Escherichia Coli, pseudomonas etc, are more common in children. Infections caused by Haemophilus Influenzae or Neisseria meningitides are rare. TB can occur in endemic areas sometimes. Cypro or ciprofloxacin is good for treatment of bacterial infections. Cypro is not effective for nongonococcal infections, such as Chlamydia. Most of side effects for cypro used in treatment of epididymits were reported as only moderate in severity, and was discontinued because of side effects onlu in 3.5% of patients treated.

You couldn't have just googled it instead of typing out all of this nonsense? Or asking the doctor when you were told about the diagnosis? What is wrong with you.
