A testicle lump is a swelling or mass in one or both testicles. If you noticed you have a lump, enlargement or some other changes on your testicles, you should see your doctor for further examination. The changes could be a sign of infection in the testicle (epididymitis) or of testicular torsion (the testicle becomes rotated inside the scrotum but this is very rare and you would have pain and would be considered as medical urgency). Epididymitis is inflammation or swelling of epididymis, and you know this is a structure that stores sperm and sits on top of the testicle. This could also cause some pain in your scrotum and it is hard to be distinguished from testicular torsion, especially in younger men. I believe your doctor (urologist) will tell you to do a number of tests, such as urine tests, STI tests, blood tests etc. Most cases of epididymitis are caused by bacterial infection, arising from urinary tract infections or sexually transmitted diseases. If not treated, the condition can become chronic and in this case you would no longer feel the swelling but a real pain. Epididymis is lumpy anyway, so you may be just feeling epididymal lumps, nothing else. Have it checked though!

Most likely it is a vericoscele. It is a mass of blood vessels that always reside in the left testicle. It is completely harmless. Just wear underwear that support your testicles well. If it starts to hurt, lie down, the blood will drain out of the vessels and relieve pressure.
