Depends on what pill, but most of them it is normal. I was on a 4 period a year pill and that is what had happened. Went my OB doctor and he told me it was normal and not to worry about it. Well, I switched pills and the same thing happened. However this time, I was on one that I had a period every month. I would have brown discharge INSTEAD of my period and he told me that it is because my uterus was changing and the lining of my uterus was "being cleaned" so I couldn't get pregnant. I've been off the pill for almost 2 months (with no period) and have had NO discharge whatsoever. I'm not pregnant, but I don't have the discharge either. When you have a period, there are small 'bubbles' that go through your ovaries and that can sometimes cause ovarian cysts (which b/c is used to correct) and if there are any that have fluid instead of blood from your uterus then that can also be a cause. I became friends with WebMD after about 4 months of discharge even when my doctor said it was normal. Honestly, unless it just gets too annoying, I wouldn't worry about it. If you don't like it, then just go to the health department, your ob doctor, or your pcp and ask them about it. Best of luck
