Sometimes throughout a year have a problem with sleeping at night because when I wake up my surroundings seem to be farther away from me than usual and the second part is everything including me seems to be moving rapidly. This has been happening to me since I was a little kid - maybe for about seven years now. It happens only a few times throughout a year and most times it's during the beginning of the year (in January) but it can make me feel nervous and scared. I've read that it could be a symptom of allergies, which might be when it usually happens to me.
This can be hard to explain but I'm going to put as much detail into it as I can so bare with me.
The first effect is when everything around me seems to be miles away. For example a wall can seem so far away yet I'm able to reach out and touch it as usual. During this same effect if I was holding a book in my hand it would feel thinner and if I grabbed a towel for example it usually feels thin.
Second, if I luckily end up going back to sleep after the first effect but wake up again the second effect usually takes place. During this time my surroundings including me seem to moving at a three times faster pace. The fan will seem to be spinning faster and I can seem to be walking faster. Although to myself I seem to be walking faster as if I'm running I can process the fact that I'm moving at the same speed I would if I was walking.
Sometimes it takes hours for these effects to wear off. I've told my parents about this when I was younger but it wasn't much use. These effects might seem weird to some people but it happens. If anyone out there knows that this is some kind of disease or just an effect because of allergies please let me know. I would like some information on this so I at least know what I'm dealing with possibly for the rest of my life.
