For about 3 weeks, I have had a very itchy spot on my left temple.
I've almost scratched it to the bone to the point where it bleeds and
has made the whole left side of my face got swollen so I've infected
it. i have tried every cream, antibiotics and holding ice on it to try and
stop the itching. I don't have dermititus, exzema or anything else like
that and it's not an allergy otherwise I'd be itchy in more than that one
spot. I have put a bandaid with antiobiotic creme that was prescribed but
no luck. The bandaid is to prevent me from scratching and from letting
anymore infection in. I'm at a loss. Could it have something to do with my
liver? (no i'm not a hypocondriac). I was only doing research on the possibilities
on what it could be. The doctor has already ruled out allergies and any other skin
conditions. Any ideas? Thank you anyone who replies. :-)

Unfortunately not. I wish it were that simple. There wasn't any irritation or bumps
before scratching. I got hit by a car this morning so I had to go to the hospital and
they assumed it was from that but I told them it was there before. Do you watch "House?"
One episode, there was an ex cancer researcher turned chef. She had scratched her
temple through the bone until brain matter was leaking. I didn't get the idea from that but
it just gives you an idea of what it's like. I don't want it to go that far. The hospital ignored
it. The doctor, hopefully will take it seriously. If I do anymore research on the possibilities,
as well as ruling things out I know it's not I'll just end up scaring myself..lol
I wish there were nurses or doctors on here. I showed it to my b/f for the first
time and even now as it is healing, (I hope) he thinks it looks terrible now. He never
saw it before cause I had my bangs covering it. He is concerned because it's huge,
red and dented from the scratching, but to me it looks like it's healing, but is still
itchy as ...ummmm...poop...lol Should I ask about tests to test my liver function?
I live in Canada so I don't have to pay. OHIP takes care of it so I can get a million
tests with no cost. Thanks for any advice and response. It's appreciated, thank you.

did you ever solve the itching problem? I have constant itching on both temples, and some inflamation. This has been going on for a year. Nothing stops it, other than for an hour or so. I am considered to be a healthy 69 year old.
