I wonder how long it will take to heal from all this suffering. I feel like I’m hyper aware of my mood changes now, so even when I have totally normally anxiety or I feel just a little bit “off” either from sleep deprivation for low blood sugar or whatever, I immediately spiral into worst case scenario thinking I’m going to lose it again. I can’t even drink anymore because any time I get a little bit tipsy I feel like I’m going to panic. It’s so frustrating.

I feel you. I'm terrified of my depression. It's been almost constant lately and anytime I feel it creep in on me I get scared. It consumes me. No one should have to go through this. I wish I never messed with own hormones.

I also struggled terribly with this and felt that was it its over for me but i got better and eventually stopped. all the mood issues have gone back to what i remember them being before being on the pill.
I did help that i got a period monthly, for those not getting regular periods, it will get there , it will just take a little more time.
Perhaps getting help from a naturopath or functional medicine Dr will help. it helped for me

Hi ladies,
I recently passed the six month mark off of birth control and wanted to give a little update. My anxiety is still pretty bad during the week before and the week of my period however, much of the time between periods I’m actually feeling much better! Previously I was was experiencing a lot of neck pain and a constant headache but it has decreased A LOT since my last post. I still experience some anxiety between periods but it low level anxiety that does not last very long and is usually triggered by stress. I do still think about all of this constantly it seems, doing “mental check-ins” and all. Overall, I’m looking forward the months coming up and hope there are few major bumps. I hope everyone is seeing improvements!

Hey ladies, just stopping by for a little update. I wrote recently about having some anxiety after my period ended, I’ve been feeling better though but today I feel kind of down and keep thinking like what if none of this was caused by the pill and just a bunch of “what ifs”. I hate having these moments because then I feel like I’ll go back to the beginning of all this when I was feeling my worst. I’m almost 17 months off but I can tell my hormones are still very imbalanced. I also think my minor setbacks could be caused by my inactivity, this summer I’m not working and I’ve just had a lot of time to dwell on problems so that could be why I feel more anxious again. I hope you’re all feeling okay!

Had a few relatively good days and now it’s back to the same old late night panic attacks. It’s exhausting. Anyone feel like the days just start to blur together? Like you aren’t really living but just trying to claw your way through each hour? It’s so upsetting.

Hi there, been where you are now, except my attacks where from 3 am in the morning. I got a product called cortisol balance from medford.... it has ashwagandha which helps SO MUCH with bringing the stress hormones down .

I agree. I know this is gonna sound weird (I’ve never really been into like astrology and stuff) but I have a friend who is really into it and the retrograde which actually ended yesterday apparently has a huge impact on women’s periods/pregnancies. Not saying it could be the only reason for all of us feeling off but I feel like maybe it really can play a role lol. It also throws off schedules: example- I got my period twice in July, along with my mother and 3 of my friends. it can’t be a coincidence that this happens to so many women at the same time. Anyways I hope you can get back to your good days, I know its hard to deal with the constant panic attacks. Sending love and strength your way

I can’t wait to be 100% recovered, I was feeling pretty much back to myself for the few months that I didn’t have my period. I feel really off these past few days because I finally got it for the month of July and I just wish this weird anxious feeling would go away.

Having another anxious day over here. Trying to get out of the house and go to the beach, but I’m feeling so stuck in my head and can’t shake this feeling that something is wrong. How’s everyone else doing?

Hey! I was the last poster 2 days ago that said I was feeling very off and anxious. I think you should go to the beach, it’ll definitely be a great way to keep your mind off of everything. I went to a family party yesterday and i feel much better after having enjoyed myself. Distracting yourself with calming/fun activities helps so much

You were so right! I was really worried I wouldn’t have a good time because my mind would NOT stop racing on the drive to the beach. But once we got the tent set up on the shore and I was all snuggled in with my boyfriend and my dogs, everything felt right for the first time in a while. Sometimes it seems like things will never be okay again. This morning I had a genuine fear that I was losing my mind. But we’re all going to be okay. I have no choice but to believe things will get better. I’m going to see a naturopath later this month so I’m hoping that will give me some insight into what exactly is going on in my body. And until then I’ll just try to live the best I can. That’s all we can do.

I’m glad you went!! I get that feeling all the time, like my mind convinces me I’ll just be like this forever but I know we’ll all recover. I hope everything goes well with the naturopath, keep us updated!

Do any of you get like very random thoughts while falling asleep, or like kind of “dreaming” as soon as you fall asleep? This keeps happening to me and I think it’s because I’ve been so sleep deprived, but of course I’ve been overthinking about it because I looked it up and everything kept saying it’s not normal. I need to just stop looking to Dr. Google lol
