Hi, sometimes it feels like my heart is stopping, I can hear how the beat is slowed down and finally I loose the sound, like it’s not working at all. Could I be imagining it? Or is it real condition?

Hi, I also had the same sensation when I would take rest after a while I feel like my heart is not working anymore. An average rate of 60 beats per minute is very important to keep blood flow and blood pressure in organism, if it would fail serious arrhythmias would start. The heart would either get back to normal work or stop to beat, this condition is called cardiac arrest. My doctor explained to me that it’s just impression, that I could have imagined it because of fear, depression, or that I am developing a phobia that my heart would stop. He adviced counceling, what has been of great help.

Hi I had this happen to me "thinking that my heart was going to stop or that it did" when I was getting a lot of anxiety attacks. This actually made me end up in the hospital with a major panick attack. If your heart stopped I don't think you would be alive or at least would collapse. Sometimes depression can bring on delusions or crazy thoughts. I even had asked my boyfriend "can you feel yours" and he said no. It's normal not to hear your heart constantly. Only when it starts to race or change speed.

I am finding allot of answers saying it's all in your mind. However I am actually feeling my pulse stop, and it is happening more frequently, literally skipping whole beats every 10-15 seconds. Does anyone know if this is a problem?
